  • Chaos Mage Awakening Test Results.

With 93 cap came Awakening skills which so far have been very exciting for those classes who have recieved them. Chaos Mage's though seems to not be very straightforward about what the new skills are capable of.

Every Awakened class recieved two new actives and four new passives, here is an in depth description of the Chaos Mage awakened skills.

    Passives.
    - Gravity Mastery: Gravity Blast and Triple Orbs leave behind Orbs of Gravity that do not deal damage and last 5 seconds. This skill is the source of damage for both of your active skills, but is affected by them in differnt ways.
    - Teleport: Teleport casts more quickly and has 1 hit of damage for ~100% matk at the end of its path. If you manage to land the hit at the end, you will be able to cast Gravity Well instantly. The problem with this passive is the instant only deals the last 5 hits of damage when you left click during Gravity Well, so although the instant casts faster, a full cast of Gravity Well without the instant will deal more total damage.
    - Charged Missile: When Charged Missile lands, Gravity Blast and Triple Orbs' cd's are recovered by 50%. After testing I found that the charge time on Charged Missile is simply too long and awkward to cast in the middle of a rotation and ultimately was actually lowering my overall dps by trying to use it. It's still a solid passive, but I simply found it not worthwhile.
    - Dark Mastery: When you deal Dark damage, your Dark attack increases by 30% for 10 seconds. This is the only passive that CM gets with awakening that does exactly what it says and nothing else. Very straightforward and effective.

    Actives.
    - Gravity Rush: Transform into a Ball of Gravity and deal damage to enemies while dashing forwards quickly. Causes nearby Orbs of Gravity to explode on contact and deal -this skill's- damage to nearby enemies. Atk per hit - 946%. Fairly useful skill and good for mobile enemies although the duration is a little long. 12 hits in total for ~11000% not including any detonated Orbs of Gravity.
    - Focus Gravity: Pull nearby Orbs of Gravity towards a targeted location to explode and deal damage to nearby enemies. The skill has Atk - 3900% on it, but that actually has nothing to do with the damage of the skill. Orbs of Gravity left behind by Gravity Blast and Triple Orbs deal exactly 4/3 or 133% board damage per hit. Meaning that for each cast of either skill, the total damage between the 3 orbs left behind is exactly 4x the board damage (the number on the skills themselves). So to visualize this:
    - Gravity Blast: Atk ~2000% x 4 = ~8000%
    - Triple Orbs: Atk ~1500% x 4 = ~6000%
So each cast of Gravity blast contributes 8k% to the damage of gravity focus, and Triple orbs contributes 6k%.

    Additional Info.
    - Gravity Blast itself does in total 2x the board damage through:
4 air hits of 15% before the skill reaches the end of its path
1 explosion for 100% at the end of its range
2 additional explosions from the ex for 20% each
Meaning in total Gravity Blast does: 15x4 + 100 + 2x20 = 200% or 2x the board damage. So when the board is ~2000%, the skill is capable of 4000% in total.
Adding all of this information together, 1 cast of Gravity Blast does 4000% and 1 cast of Focus Gravity does 8000% which in total across the two skills is 12000%.
    - Triple Orbs does exactly 1/6 of its board damage per hit, meaning 6 hits of triple orbs is equal to the number on the skill which is about ~1500%. Full hits on triple orbs is 24 in total, so divided by 6 results in Triple Orbs dealing 4x the board damage per cast which is ~6000%.
Focus Gravity as stated before does 3 hits of 133% board damage which also equals ~6000%. So as a result, 1 cast of triple orbs for ~6000% plus one cast of focus gravity for ~6000% comes to a total of ~12000%.

With all of that information together, it shows that Gravity Blast and Triple Orbs both deal ~12000% in total if you cast the skill as well as use Focus Gravity afterwards in order to detonate the Orbs of Gravity left behind by them.

I hope this information helped you learn a little more about Chaos Mages in the current content. Feel free to comment or question.
