Slayer Gear equipment limits

I heard whispers hither and thither that you can only equip two pieces of slayer gear at any given time. While that's still pretty strong, why not all 5? Is it because of future skill boosts?

Yes. the future additions to slayer gear are going to be that each piece changes/boosts one of your skills in some (significant) way. the idea is that by limiting each player to picking only 2/5 it will create play style diversity and a sense of uniqueness amongst players of the same class. Now this will only work if they're balanced in such a way that there isn't a definitive "best" 2 piece combo so I'm hoping the long delay in the slayer update is due to a great deal of balance and playtesting.
