New player and got a problem finishing tutorial

Hello I am a new player trying to finish the tutorial but I it seems that i am stuck right at the beginning where that teacher-lady instructs me to press k and check my skills. I pressed it, and checked all the tabs there but she keeps telling me i need to press K still. Is there something I am missing? I appreciate your tips. Thank you

iirc, you have to learn some skills, so press the "+" near the icon.
