Is defensio a good tank class?

From what I've been reading, defensio is considered as a tank style class, but how good are they in comparison to the "core" classes like guardian and destroyer?

They're harder to tank with but if you put in the effort then no one will notice a difference. Mostly people think they suck because their bubble is close ranged but a tank is taken for aggro control first and foremost; anyone who complains about not receiving bubbles missed the point.

but yeah defensio is also the only tank without announced awakenings (less dps) so you'll have to wait for balance changes.

if guard is your traditional shield blocker, destroyer is your damage soaker, and defensio is a mobile brawler.
