Old client before July 14

So if I still have my old files from sometime in June but didn't patch after July 14, is there anything I can do with them? Or is it better to just redownload everything and install fresh?
Should I delete these old files or should I uninstall first before installing from the new setup?

They stated that if it wasn't patched after that date, you'll have to redownload the new client. So it'd be best to just delete the old files as they are useless.
