  • Need some answers from loyal DNSEA players :)

    Hello,

I'm from DN SEA, from level 60 to level 93 cap, where i had stopped for a while. During that period of time, the game was transferred from CC to ED. I was unable to transfer my account over due to some complications (it kept showing me "error while transferring"), and despite writing to CC Gardeners numerous times, the only solution they could come up with is that i haven't properly transferred my account over. As such they wanted to know my IP addresses which i used.

In case many of you are unaware, obtaining an IP address allows many 'hackers' to access your computer. Though i may not be an expert, I rather not risk sending my private information over, even to CC. Yes, it's my loss, and thus i lost my original account.

However, i really do like DN's style of playing, especially the reflex-action-based. I'm currently considering returning to DN SEA level 95 cap, (obviously with new characters) but I was wondering whether or not it is still worth it to play. So i have a few questions to ask the SEA community.

    1) Is the game still Pay to Win? My end game goal would include high level dragon's nests with friends, along with the thrill of pvp. Are good equipments easier to get now?

    2) Is the economy still as insane (avoiding the f word here) as always? During my time, Trading House Deowen (I think that's his name?) caused me and my friends to go crazy. We had tried to analyse the market and stuff, and tried to see which items are worth farming, which costumes are worth buying, etc. However, every time there's a new level cap, old equipment gets outdated, and was a total waste of time getting these old equipment. As a result, most of my friends left the game.

    3) Did they bring back Captain's Match? In the past, the ultimates' cd were 90 seconds. That was fun and games. You literally see Barbs just camping for their BC and tornadoes, and Priests saving their Miracles. Now it was changed to having ultimates at the last seconds of the clock, even if you have a CD plate. The usual thrill is gone, and sometimes teams don't even need strategies, just rush in and spam skills. Maybe that's what people think the new thrill is? Okay, maybe this question is self answered....

    4) Are Dragon's Nest still only playable at level cap? I'm talking about 8 man nests with full teams. During my time, me and my friends had to grind to level cap just to participate in the nest. These nest had Level Requirements, but it's not a level range, it's fixed level cap. Sure, you can still do 2 or 4 man Dragon's nest, but whats the point and where's the fun right? Why not bring back the old nest where new players who are level 40-50, etc, can do 8 man SDN like last time? Definitely beats grinding to level cap, and grinding again to get equipments, just to participate in nests? Having 2 man's nest only goes to show that teamwork is not really important anymore since you can clear nests with good gear, get my point?

    5) Grinding. I know that this was revamped. But i wanna know how much has changed. I remember grinding my inquisitor at Golden Meadow. 0.03% exp per dung without ftg. (I almost vomit blood...) So I'm curious as to how easy it is now to grind.

    6) PVP medals. Ex players side with me here. These things are kinda useless...? I could pvp for a full day and i still cant get enough medals to buy useful stuff. 10 medals to buy 1 crafting item, was it?

    7) Healers, how is the job so far? Last time, I had a Light Fury. Even with a 15 seconds heal for 30%(?) Hp, and with his other healing capabilities, my friends and i barely survived BDN Memorial 1. If i remember correctly, now the healing has changed to 30 seconds cd? Literally no one i know wants to play healer anymore. They even removed your float But why? We can escape jumping mechanics with this and save our teammates at the same time!! So i'd like to ask how this coming along for you fellow (preferably main) healers?

That's all i have to ask. Don't have to answer everything, just answer those you can, it will be greatly appreciated

I sincerely apologize if this post offended anyone. No offence was intended.

P.s. Are there any guilds willing to take me in if i return to DN? XD Preferably from SG and english speaking.

Correct me if I am wrong senpai-tachi (also just came back to the game after 2 year hiatus)
    1) Is the game still Pay to Win?
    - Technically, but it's still possible to enjoy the end game content with little spending (but heavily on grinding)

Are good equipments easier to get now?
    - Currently the easiest and cheapest (kinda) way to get good equipment is to buy Neris equipment (Epic) from the blacksmith
upgrade them to +20, then evolve them into Medea equipment (Unique)
    More details in : http://sea.dragonnest.com/news/notice/all/70

    2) Is the economy still as insane (avoiding the f word here) as always?
    - Yup, some stuff are still OP

    3) Sorry, not into pvp so not really sure about that, sorry

    4) Are Dragon's Nest still only playable at level cap?
    - Well, currently if you reach level 80, there is Red Dragon Nest (sadly they remove all the low level dragon nest)

    5) Grinding
    - Things were pretty fast nowadays, but after ED taken over, the FTG system is now working as intended
(Meaning if your FTG is 0, you cannot enter the dungeon until the FTG is recovered)

    6) Sorry again, not into pvp that much >_<

    7) Healers, how is the job so far? how this coming along for you fellow (preferably main) healers?
    - I have a sub saint character, so far so good? Pretty much nowadays everything will kill you in 2 -3 moves
(pretty low geared saint >_<) But in future updates, all heal cd will be changed to 90s (the tanker and priest revamp)

They even removed your float But why?
    - iirc, many were complaining about LF just float there and do nothing, so they remove it?
But increase in damage + healing per second is quite OP so they revamp it

      1) Depends on how much time you're willing to put in this game. But if you want to get geared with calypse in a flash you'd prolly need to put some cash. You can get full set end gear, refined genesis, good plates n talismans without spending real money but would take helluvah time, effort, and luck for sure.

      2) It's always insane. When another spam method to collect expensive stuff comes up that can be farmed with many chars, people farm that item to the point the price is dirt cheap (e.g. spera, jade heart, talisman essence).

      4) 90, 93, 95 caps for nests. Well it's pretty easy to level up now anyway so... yeah. Plus awakened skills are way better than non-awakened now so even if you can play at other cap those who already maxed will be much preferred.

      5) Pretty easy as long as you utilize all exp boosters (scrolls/guild costumes/EXP events/Sunday exp buff/WTP goblin [60-80 can enter]). Only thing that'll stop you is weekly entrance for WTP goblin and FTG.

        1/ P2W or not.
Gearing progression is much more tolerable now when we can evolve our gear.
Start from Epic 95 (neris) -> Evole to Medea > Medea Tier 2 > Calypse > Calypse tier 2. So yes, you can get high end gear just from epic, but of course that require a lot of time and effort.
Genesis access is pure farming. You can get full set in 3-6 months if you farm really hard.
2/ I don't get what you mean insane about economy and Trading house. SEA always has a healthy market. And I can get a huge amount of gold just from AFK at TH alone, hehe.
3/ That is PvP? I have no idea. I don't PvP since forever.
4/ DN is only for cap level player. And we always can reach level cap very fast. I don't see a point to bring content for low level player.
5/ Level grinding is very fast now, you should never worry about that.
6/ PVP medals is useless. I maybe wrong about this since I don't pvp.
7/ LF or healer is useful in hard nest, so no worry.

1)If u have more time to farm, u dont need to spend a lot to win..If u got no time to farm, u can spend to catch up.
2)The economy is stable in DN.
3)Captains match is deserted nowadays. All pvp players shifted playing in Respawn mode.
4)Once u reach level cap,u can enjoy more excitements doing nests and pvp too.
5)Grinding is good at this level cap.
6)PVP medals rewards based on your colosseum ranks. If u are high rank, u can buy useful stuffs. For example if u are 2 star diamond blue rank, u can buy a Horn of Life every week using pvp medals.Horn of life is used for pets.
7)Playing healers need good coordination in using heal skills nowadays,u need good timing to use heal skills,it cant just be spammed as old days.It makes the game more interesting.

            1. Pay to Win? Depends. If you want fast, you pay, thats it. Or not, farm like a cow.
            2. Mad? It always had been.
            3. Not sure, never went to PVP
            4. Level up is pretty fast in DN, so no point releasing low level content. If you must want to, go to Duel Dragon Nests.
            5. That is the good old time. Now is like 20% per run with ftg, and you cant even enter dungeon without ftg.
            6. Medals are quite useless now, just for exchanging some materials.
            7. 4 man nests? Depends. 8 man raids? Yes absolutely.

I'll just add a few points that i can give my opinion on.

              1) P2W mostly comes from cash items now. If it had to compare 60c and 95c, it used to be more of a cosmetic thing now it boosted your stats a lot, so yeah the reliance of cash items are kinda high now especially weapon costume. In terms of gears having cash of course will skip the trouble of gearing, if you're expecting to do hardcore content sad to say the requirement is higher compare before, you are expected to be heavily geared. If you're going to be casual its more forgiving though by casual i mean doing nightmare runs, normal PVE content. It takes a whole lot of grind to reach the optimum end game gears. tl;dr, P2W=Op stuffs quick, F2P=casual, takes hell of a time to gear up. Oh to add, you can't trade using DNP anymore so expect to buy costumes only thru CC/ED.

              3) PVP, if its group pvp mode, currently it's dominated by AoE classes (adept,elestra,saleana,kali,spin-offs) so it's kinda love hate for PVP now. My take is that it's only survivable if you're playing OP AoE classes. Awakening more less gives a fresh/new experience in playing the game but with that comes the unbalance.

If you're going in alone it takes luck i guess to find a guild, and it's horrible itself to play with pubs in this current DN. If you're coming in with friends it's probably more simpler to do things. Personally i think you really should see for yourself the current environment of DN, then from there you decide yourself whether to stay or leave.

Hi, a 80% PVE, 20% PVP player here

                1) Time effort or cash, you can choose on how to gear. huehuehueheu

                2) You can make great profits during special events ie enhancement events where jelly and garnet prices spike way high.

                3) PVP Cap mode? Ulti CD too long. Also, EX instants are not usable

                4) There are many playable nests. You can do 93 nests for harmony cubes, 95 nests for powerstones, 90 nests for community points hunting

                5) 200% exp events are frequent

                6) You can buy some good stuff using medals. You can buy cubes for genesis acce. Tho it isnt too much of a help.

                7) No idea

                  1. I'm free to play player here (well I did some few cash during gachalicius, over 5yrs of playing I spent around 50k-70kcc). and now I'm able to enjoy engame contents, rune hardcore and even giving services. Tho yes, the time u need to grind until reaching end game contents is very long. I started 60-70c ish, play casually with friends, and do some mid game contents and took me around 2yrs to reach rdnL at 80c (almost 90c).

                  2. I'm not sure about this.. If you're kinda new, u dont have any golds yet, then yes you'll probably feel TH prices will be insane, and u cant buy shiits from there. but when u keep playing, and start earning, or even have budget to buy and resell stuffs (this can get u some amount of good golds, if u know what u buy and resell), then TH will seem natural, and considered OK.. ofcourse there will be people overpricing stuffs, just ignore those.

                  3. sorry, no idea, I only KOF for pvp, hahaha even so, I'm newbie pvp

                  4. well, thers dungeons / lvl 80+ nests, but to enjoy dn, yes u need to level cap. (its not hard to get lvl cap, dun worry)

                  5. leveling quite easy now, compared to 70c. plus now ED frequently giving 200% exp boost, 300% exp boosts, just use this to you advantage, but even without it, its still easy to level cap

                  6. not sure how long u need to farm these thru pvp. but the light cube is quite good to make genesis accessories. and u can get 200 medals from doing feats

                  7. healers still have their own important roles in pve. some healers can even dps if you're geared enough. as for LF, although u lost the old floats, now LF have 3 party healing skills, so its still a good support class.

My opinion : dont rush things, play at your own rate and at your own level. doing nightmare, limit break nests, and completing party reward (for community pts) are the good ways to earn gold nowadays. and also freebies from events, like the boardgame now happening (ending soon) and many more events in the future I assume.

Reading the replies and realized there are still many forumers who doesnt understand PVP nowadays, okay i'll answer it for them:

                    3. Captain Mode is always my favorite for intense pvp play rather than Mission Respawn Rooms, rush and spam skills ? actually that's what they do in respawn, using ultimates in the past surely fun as well but remember when BT is still party buff ? imagine if there's at least 1 FU on your opponent team.

I play captain mode every time i went online and trust me i think it's a lot more fun than in the past, mostly thanks to Dash skill which make it more exciting to Hunt the Capt or Running as the Capt (remember when your opponent's capt is a warrior or acrobats and how you desperately trying to chase them as EL or other classes with minimum mobility skills?) and it's a common sense now in colosseum that every capt room always have to take place in Lost Temple arena, so even though we can use dash to hunt the capt and the capt is quite good at running as well, we'll still be able to catch them by unconsciously making strategy with your fellow hunters to catch him.

(Unconsciously ? yesh if you played capt actively enough you'll understand how people usually cooperate and doesnt need to talk about it first, like when i saw my fellow hunter chasing a capt to the corridors, i immediately jump to bridge and catch the capt there, and same with when i chase the capt through the bridge and my fellow hunter saw it and he decided to catch the capt from the corridors entrance, how can i jump to bridge from below ? SH, ML, Mara, DS, Bringers and other classes with certain skills can do that) And other strategies that came up on its own, well mainly on how the hunters rush the capt though.

Believe me you can still get a lot of fun in captain mode, even more fun than KOF or 2v2, 3v3 i think, of course there will be OP classes with OP skills in there but it still depends on individual's piloting skills, including your piloting skills on how to face them.

                    6. For me primarily to farm light cubes and dark cubes, Colosseum store 3 Light cubes, Elite Store 3 light cubes and 3 dark cubes, other than cubes i also use medals to buy Cube Pouch and Goddess Grief pouch or just a simple Gold Pouch, and i think in the future patch, since ED will remove IDN from GTS, we can't farm Golden Goose Alliance points that easy now.

Usually from IDN's Hound Collar which you can give it to Berlin and get tons of Golden Goose points in an instant, and since Elite Store has Alliance Gifts items, it will be easier for those who needs Golden Goose point, like my main now has medals like 10k++ in her storage.

In the future patch as well, the numbers of cubes you can buy in medal store will be increased.

Someone said "Dominated by AOE classes" and "only survivable if you playing OP AOE classes", really ? then how come i can get this score with Mara, which is a class with very minimum AOE skills, and Silver Hunter which i think doesnt have OP AOE skills like Adepts, Eles and any other OP AOE classes that got lower score than me ? Blaming on how OP classes make PVP unfair is really old-fashioned, piloting still matters.
