For your follow up question, I believe only loots dropped by bosses / mobs are affected by the increased drop rate. Loots from chests aren't.

Yup, memory fragment is a key to enter treasure stage to get darkness cube and the only purpose of darkness cube is to craft a genesis accessory. For me that is the most efficient way to do while drop rate event is being active since drop rate doesn't really affect nest and doing abyss dungeon with this drop rate only gives you another seal or a piece of neris equipment.
