Hero and Minion/Pet exp doesn't increase

I noticed that my hero or pet doesnt get any exp everytime i cleared nest oe dungeon. Is there something that I missed, or its a bug?
Btw I just came back from this game after 3 years.

Your hero will get exp through hero expedition only and nothing else...
You can get pet exp using pet boom boom potion at community point shop at heraldry npc...

I see I see. Well at least I can level up my pet to max in an instant now
