I propose a change to Tempest's EX instant, which is the Divine Rage Instant
Current EX Instant:
- Casting Kickshot followed by Divine Rage will make Divine Rage "instant" making it skip the initial running portion (which lasts less than 1 second) and goes straight into the attacks while being fully iframed.
Problems with the current EX Instant:
- The design philosophy of an EX instant was to improve a skill by cutting short its animation while still retaining its original damage (and perhaps improving it) and also giving it some additional effect, that is needed by the class.
Take for example, Windwalker's EX instant, which cuts short the casting animation of Cyclone Kick by over half while still retaining all its damage, allowing them to deal more damage in a shorter period of time.
The current Divine Rage instant does not fulfill this design philosophy. It does not cut short the skill animation significantly, and while the full iframe is nice, it is not something that Tempests need.
Tempests do not need another iframe skill as we already have many of it.
Proposal to revamp Tempest's Divine Rage Instant:
- Cut short the animation of Divine Rage to only the initial kicking attacks, while retaining its original damage. (reduction of casting animation duration from 4 sec to 1 sec)
- Remove iframe of Divine Rage Instant, just keep its SuperArmor and damage reduction State should be enough to balance things out.
Rest Assured, this change will definitely not make Tempest's DPS overpowered in any way, but improve the quality of life of tempests.
Besides, Divine Rage has a long cd of 125 sec and needs to cast main Tempest skills to reduce its cd, so it cannot be spammed at all.
Moonlords already have a very similar skill mechanic with their Smash X having high damage, short casting animation, long cd, but cd being able to be reduced by casting MoonBladeDance, so it is nothing groundbreaking for tempests to have something similar.
I hope ED's developers can take a look at both acrobat classes and do a review of their skills and DPS capability as they have been at the bottom tier for a very long time while the bowmaster counterparts have always been the go-to class for archers.
Best Regards
