Thanks ED for getting rid of apple farming abuse

Currently it supports the people that choose not to, because there are methods of making money by selling items on the market to other players. As someone else already pointed out, cutting out a massive chunk of gold supply is going to make people hesitant to buy anything.

That said, you also don't seem to know that they've already done this several times before, or I doubt you'd be holding onto the hope that they will add something to generate gold. We had chaos rifts. You could farm it on multiple characters, sell or npc the mats, and continue on generating money that way. We had the fake royal chests in 50 cap dungeons that dropped mats and a decent amount of gold for dungeon grinding. We had Furious Mezzanine, from which we could generate gold (less than Chaos Rifts but still decent generation). Mezz got a sorry excuse for a replacement with Citadel. I'm sure there are other methods that have been eliminated, but the point is, ED has continuously removed them without rectifying the fact that the economy suffered for it.

So what, exactly, makes you think that this is going to be any better.

I find the idea that an entire server has to make tons of accounts and alt farm something to make gold ludicrous, don't you feel bad that NA is pretty much the only server that has come to this? The Devs will eventually add more ways to get gold.....


But the alt abuse had to go its insane... 450 alts? 600 alts? 1000+ alts? What the hell........ I don't care how much you say it "benefits" the server if the only way to get gold is to farm apples and not actually do content, something is wrong go play Farmville for the same experience.... The top say 20% of the players being able to get gold, while the other 80% do content and make much less gold? Is that fair? This shouldn't be like the 1900's where you had a small margin of people extremely wealthy, and then the rest in poverty.

This is an action Mmo, and no matter how much people start to hate me, I will voice my opinion on how i feel about something, and I strongly hate apple farming... So you guys can hate post about me all you want it won't matter, there are people who share my viewpoints... Eventually maybe others will too, think of it like the Vietnam war for those of you who know your history....

Why don't you try to farm apple see if its easy or not or making 600 alt. Killing off apple and not giving us alternative will kill our server more and more players will quit. There was a guy back in 80 cap call obvilion he has 300 alt the guy lasted for 3-4 month then quit the game cause farming apple on 300 alt was too much for him. So you expect everyone rich with doing content then the whole server would be rich. People are upset cause another gold method for F2P players has been remove & not everyone is lucky like you crafting 4 FD plate.

I remember suggesting to GM to have an npc to bless buff then a lot start to cry oh gold sink. Most of our gold come from apple believe it or not yet players are happy they removing 1 of the best source of gold for F2P players.

It was a comparison and example based on history, does it really matter? a quick overview of what happened is that people were against something, and so they hated the people who supported or were involved in it, and then many years later came to terms with it and respected them

The economy shouldn't be based on people farming apples, nor should it penalize those who choose not to.

You are suggesting that we celebrate the death of our economy. I have a number of reasons for hating this change, ranging from the fact that juice will be impossible to make in an efficient manner, to the fact that the economy is going to die, quickly, which in turn kills the game. Have I thought that the apple farm is the right way to go about it? No, but I understand why people do it. That said, I don't think they should half-ass the removal of it, as they are. Am I surprised by this? Again, no, because they have done this twice already, which has led the server to where it is now.

There is no way to sustain our server without it, currently. The fact that you are celebrating the removal of the last way to generate gold without another method being implemented instead speaks volumes to me. You can be happy all you like about it, but just keep in mind that they are unlikely to implement something that will actually help the game. So enjoy it while it lasts.
