Possible to get the maximum amount of hits on Marionette consistently?

I've been able to get the max hits on various size targets however I don't think I can do it consistently. Is there a technique, timing or specific positioning to always do it? Or is it random?

Doesn't matter really, as long as you are hitting it for the debuff, is all gucci.
