Is it worth just having 20% light damage instead of raw damage?

I'm a Gladiator :3

I recently switched to light and with all my gems and a decent title I have 20% light damage! I tried dailies earlier and it just seemed the same or a little slower.. Am I crazy?! I lose 16k damage with all this light damage, but I wanted to know what others thought would be the better route?

Yes and no. You are weaker because you have no elemental debuffs to help increase that damage output. Elemental damage is stupid strong when with a team that have a few elemental debuffers with them. For example on my destroyer I go from 80mil hits on my own to 90-100mil with an elemental debuff or two.

Durring dungeons technically running raw damage would be stronger and faster. Because your class doesn't offer its own elemental at first.

Elemental Damage is strongest and you see the results the easiest are in nests and raids. Where most party comps at this current meta has a few Elemental debuffers on the team.

So once again to answer your question you are a lot stronger in a party with elemental. You probably are even or slightly less on your own with light conversion. I hope this answers your question.
