  • Need advice on which hybrid LK build is better.

Before I start I'd like to say that I've never played LK at all after the awakening system came out so please bear with me on this. So the primary reason I'm making this thread is due to me being on the fence of whether or not to include the awakened skill Moon Blader into my build. After doing extensive research on LK's I've come to see that, though this skill has its perks, it's not actually used in combat all that much in both PvP and PvE. On top of that, there's the issue that it requires dumping 13 points into Flash Stance, which is apparently not a very good skill to use in dps rotations. Though Moon Blader has the added plus of reducing Smash X's cooldown, I feel that MBD does that task much better as it not only reduces its cooldown, but also deals high damage on its own, effectively killing two birds with one stone. Therefore, I made two builds, one including Moon Blader and one without. I'd like some input as to the value of Moon Blader and whether it is worth sacrificing 13 SP and a few more points in the SM magic tree to get the skill for a hybrid play style.

The Build (with Moon Blader): http://tinyurl.com/zya4tef
The Build (without Moon Blader): http://tinyurl.com/j567lbm

The build with Moon Blader requires that I deal slightly less damage with my core skills in order to keep it. This could mean less DPS overall, but all that depends on how good a tool Moon Blader is. The second build allows me to hit as hard as I can with all my core skills, but at the cost of not having Moon Blader of course, which could potentially result in a DPS loss depending on the situation. From my own perspective based on what I've seen, Moon Blader is a really niche skill that deals mediocre damage and only serves a filler purpose for reducing the cooldown of Smash X when no other skills are available to be used, which should be almost never given that LK's have lower cooldowns on skills now than ever before. So I lean towards the build without Moon Blader, but I'd like some opinions before I finalize my decision.

    1. Moon Blader is our best push skill.
    2. a Max CCleave does over 20,000% when you hit all 42 times.
    3. Moon Blade Dance's EX DPS Output outweighs regular MBD.

    4. Here have my skill build. http://prntscr.com/d9nbt8

If hybrid, you absolutely should not take Moon Blade Dance EX, since it is absolutely horrid in PvP. Regular MBD is also debatably better in PvE also.

You should use Strict mode instead of Relaxed mode, as that ensures your build is actually possible. Dash Kick is also pretty unnecessary, and can get you killed from the dash attack glitch.

Impact Wave lv6 is also incredibly useful in PvP, since it is a free lift on a very short cooldown that casts relatively quickly.

I would suggest something like this:

I actually find myself using Moon Blader decently often in my IDN runs. If you cast your rotation fast enough, you'll often times find thee or four second gaps where you have nothing else to do. Additionally, Moon Blader lets you decrease Smash X cooldown in situations where you do not want to commit to a full attack, such as before (or even during) Balapa redbar mech. In PvP it is considerably difficult to use, but a second Brave-style AOE is useful, and it deals boatloads of damage.
