  • Sending mercenaries to do quests?

I think I read before that we can send mercenaries to do dungeons and get gold out of it or something. Does anyone have more information on this, if it exists? Do we have it?

    Hi!
Yes we can its called Merc Expedition. U need at least 3 mercs minimum to start a mission and lamost need to be lvl 20 before having good chance of success. To do so, Click on the menu buton to the right of the skill bar and then click on merc. U can also set a keyboard key to access directly to the expedition. U have 3 possible difficulty |( blue, orange and purple.) And a few different time for each Like 30mins mission, 1h,3h,6h,10h or 12h.

Be carefull tho if you use merc to do dungeon with you once sended on an expedition u cant use the merc before the mission is over.

      Yes, mercenary expeditions

      There are:

8 different rare grade types, 7 different epic grade types and 8 different unique grade types (3 magic grade mercs too)
rare/epic/unique grade missions, you open up the epic/unique missions through cycling through rare/epic missions. When you do a quest, a new one takes its place, you'll never run out
      takes 3 mercs per mission
never and I repeat NEVER rent mercs, use your own
cap your mercs either by doing merc missions or by running them in dungs/nests
synthesize your mercs but replace the soon to be synth'd mercs first, doing this will net you free epic/unique grade mercs xD
this is a lot of micro managing, if you wish to make the most gold possible
if you put forth the effort and invest in this, you will make a lot of gold, the more mercs you have the more missions you can run which = more gold

I would make a guide for these new forums since my old one is now gone if enough people want one, I'm assuming most that will stomach the micro managing that is merc missions already know what to do :P but if there are enough people who ask for one, I'll make one down the road soon.

      Cheers

*it really is this easy to make gold off of mercs, I've made well over 10x my investment back already and I haven't expanded yet (in over a month) since I just want to profit atm . Still around 130 mercs or so.

Its in the menus somewhere, bottom left. You can send 3 of them to do quests with different times. They all get exp and if they succeed you get boxes depending on how long it was and what kind of quest. Harder quests give better boxes but have a higher fail rate. There are also certian items you can get from eggs that can give you a higher sucess rate and shorter clesr time. If you don't have enough mercs or yours are low tier you can also spend 20-30g to hire one.

Others have said this but it is pretty easy to make returns back on investment from your mercs:

          - You can easily obtain 1-2 mercs per week without having to use the market at all. As always a rare merc can be obtained by the Daredevil faire. The Mercenary box you can get from the Nightmare Star shop is only 4k stars (about 1-2 runs if that) and can be rare, epic, or unique. Abuse this, and sell the duplicate mercs you get, or try for a synthesis.
          - I like to wait to open up my merc boxes till the end of the week. it's actually quite handy to do this as it puts more of an emphasis on your actual rewards.
          - Higher grade quests have to compete with lower grade ones. Therefore if you want higher grades, you need to exhaust lower grade teir quests to do it. This isn't bad as you get garnets, 80 conversion gems, and the occasional 90-93 plates and gear.
          - General rule of thumb: It takes 2 max level mercenaries to 100% clear a mission 1 rank below them, and 1 max rank of that tier. So to guarentee 100% clear for a Epic mission, you need 2 max level Unique grade mercs, and 1 max level epic.. To cap rare missions (The lowest grade) you need 2 max level epics and 1 max rare, or 1 max level Unique. This can be pretty handy if you're leveling other mercs with the missions. You can cap it with 2 higher level mercs, then throw a lowbie merc at it for some easy exp

If I could add just one more tip to this thread (though it might be obvious):

Get ALL THREE Magic-Grade Mercs (can get two from quests, and one more for 25 Daredevil Fair tickets). Sounds dumb, I know, since they offer the lowest success rates even when capped. But it's good to have at least ONE team that can let you cycle out 30-min/1-hour rare missions (which appear a LOT) and possibly spawn the longer, more valuable missions without concern for the team's levels (you can't synch Magic-Grade mercs, so leveling them isn't really a concern). You might still be forced to take a lower-grade mission with better mercs anyway, but a full magic-grade team will at least help to ensure it occurs less often. They MIGHT get you an extra box if they're lucky enough, but again, it's not a huge concern since they're just there to deal with throw-away missions.
