I have two emblem spots open (the top two of the center-most 4) that I don't have any emblems I can place in... What kind of emblems go there and where can I get them?

The center of your Heraldry slots is reserved for skill crests. Not sure what class you are though but these crests boost moves, like for a Lunar Knight a good skill crest is Halfmoon Slash.
The outer 4 are purple crests like chaos, source, increasing, striking and offensive. -
Oh and for the other part of the question, skill crests are obtained from many places but the easiest is from the Nest shop.
The purple crests are a bit trickier to get.
Chaos Heraldry can be gotten for 1250 points at the daredevil faire shop. The others can be found in various nests at harder difficulties. On the screen before you enter a nest it shows available rewards. Look for the purple plate on the reward list. If you dont see it, they dont drop there. Good luck hunting them.
