Double EXP event not on

It's now the weekend in PST/PDT but I've noticed the double exp event hasn't started yet on my character. Is this a glitch or does it start later?

As far as I could tell, drop rate event about two weekends ago didn't work either.

I don't think events will work properly until the next patch to be honest.

I would be surprised if they addressed any of the current issues by 'next patch'.
