Allow numbers for IGNs?

Otherwise, new players (or people who are returning) will soon notice the lack of options.
Especially when people are creating characters with "cool" IGNs just to sell them (1k gold on average).

I know that special characters are prohibited, according to the abuse policy... but I don't see a problem with numbers, and I don't think they can be considered "special characters". If I'm not mistaken, numbers are allowed in the other servers (SEA and EU). And going a little further, I even heard that EU allow dots, hyphens and certain symbols.

then you get users like for example -
Syrammie,syrammie1,syrammie2.. etc

It forces people to come up with an original username unique to them without using someone else's and adding a number. That's the main reason why (i assume) you can't use numbers or special characters. I like the way it is, forces me to be creative with my usernames xD

I'm sure most players do not intend to use the IGN of someone else... and if there's someone in-game using your IGN to pretend being you, I believe you can report that person for harrassing/persecution.

Also, even now, it isn't hard for a bad-intentioned person to copy someone else's IGN. Using your example (I hope you don't mind): Syramnie, Syralune, SyraIuna (capitalized i)

I have a 1-3 names that I use since the day I started playing MMOs. So, getting used to other IGNs can be pretty difficult. I don't intend to speak for everyone, but I'm sure that there are other players in the same situation.

True, but if you know where to look, you could find a database of usernames to use.

And i didn't mean steal as in impersonate, just steal as in, "i like that username, so I'll modify it!" In all my years of playing dn, I've only come across like 1 person that would've impersonated me if he could've. (They're gone now)
Personally i wouldn't mind if someone used syraIuna (capital i). To me that name isn't that creative since im just adding things after "syra" xD

Edit: thanks to dn having their no numbers rule, i created syrammie, so sometimes it can help create your ideal username

Game has been out for 5 or 6 years, never have players run out of 'options'. We also just had a bunch of accounts wiped. I think we'll pull through.
