Halloween Kitty permanent? Or 7-day duration?

On the patch notes page there is no mention of the Halloween Kitty having a 7-day duration but when I hover over it in the store in-game there's a "(7 days)" notice on it. I'm just wondering if that 7-day notice is only for the item you get to receive the kitty or if it's actually for the kitty?

No pet in the game is permanent (as in endless duration). They either have a 7-day or 30-day duration.

The Halloween kitty is permanent, the 7 days is how long the pet is active until you have to revive it with an alicorn.
