  • Please tell me what you think about the last PVP event.

    Hello Guys.
    This is [GM] Dean.

It's probably late to talk about this, but i'd like to ask you guys about the PvP event.
As you all know, there was a PvP event last week and many of you tried / participated in the PvP event.
Sadly, I know some could join in match and some could not.

BTW, I think many of you enjoyed the event and now I want to hear what you are thinking about the PvP event.
Please tell me your experience or the suggestion for improving future events.

We will have more events like this and we hope to hear your suggestions to make them better.

    Thank you.

It was fun but a player went and cursed at the GM's thinking its funny to even make a video of this and in my opinion should have been banned, thanks for trying with the pvp event!

      Hi Dean,

I was one person who was unable to join in a match.

I think a better pvp event would be a return to DNCL or a team vs team wipeout/respawn event. DNCL (1v1 tournament) would obviously be for 1v1 glory and was generally enjoyed by a lot of pvpers, but something that I think DNNA is missing the the team vs team pvp aspect. I've watched several pvp tournaments from KDN, CDN, and JDN, and it was really nice to see people relying on each other in a team in pvp as opposed to being toxic. This camaraderie is something that this server desperately needs as well, as there is honestly nothing better to do in the game at the moment, pve or pvp alike. We have raids in pve and get rewarded for succeeding as a team, but in pvp, we don't really have anything like that, making it more likely that people will be toxic against each other.

On a larger scale, PLEASE REVIVE GUILD RUMBLES. Those were massively fun for us veterans from several caps ago, but it never happens nowadays due to various reasons. Giving a reward to the winning guild would make guild rumbles relevant again!

Guild rumbles please. When I mean Guild Rumble, I don't mean Rumble Mode(since the last time I asked, you said they fixed Rumble Mode which isn't the same thing).

First I'd like to adress the fact that someone made a video cursing at a GM that person should be permanently banned.

as for the event it was fun but needed better rewards.

Maybe making it a room open to like 20-30 people and do that for 3-4 times and then RNG choose from those select people that got into the rooms.
That would've been better for players that wanted to actually PvP the GM & for the people that wanted a chance at artbook at all.

Here is what I thought of this event:

It was progress! The spirit of the event was indeed PvP, and I'm glad you made an effort to sit through all 30 games. However, because of the way rewards were structured, the only real thing that mattered was one's latency and typing speed, not pvp skill at all. I understand you were probably trying to have a casual theme as your first PvP event, so you made it participation reward, not victory reward. This caused a lot of people to feel that it was a bit unfair and gimmicky, as it hugely favored those living close to the game server and those with fast keyboard skills.

A better solution is to have it be a very large room, such as a Guild Rumble or a Tournament, and simply choose winners randomly from the participants. Another way is to have the winners of a tournament or some such receive a prize, though this is considerably more competitive.

Also, I would like an explanation for why you ditched me when I (Argenta) joined the room! You gave me quite a fright, and I was only able to rejoin another room from sheer luck. From my point of view, you almost robbed me of the event rewards for no good reason!

It would also be nice to send out confirmations that the mailing information was received. It's a bit unclear if you need more info, or if we sent it to the wrong email, etc.

                        Hello!

I can't have much say in this since I was one of the people to receive the book, but I feel that it's such a harsh event to people who have different time zones / slow internet / crappy computers / Bad Hand-Eye-Coordination Skill. NO OFFENCE.

BUT AFTER READING ALL THESE COMMENTS; People asking for guild rumble, people asking for huge rooms and putting their PVP skills on the line: It gives 'SOLO' players like myself a chance at something where there's no need for team work / guild help.

So overall; the event is a big clown fiesta since it didn't 'give back' to the community, only for those who had an advantage than others.

                        - JZapatero

(IS THERE ANY CONFIRMATION THAT THE ART BOOK IS SENT OUT? LIKE A TRACKING NUMBER? <3)

I'd prefer it if events intended to be PvP based rewarded players for actually PvPing and performing well, like a 1v1 tourney, guild rumble, group pvp etc. With the last event, the bulk of the "pvp" players partook in was trying to type in the room password faster than everyone else (and having a fast internet connection). Once they got in, it didn't really matter what they did, they had already "won" the event. What ever happened past that point was utterly pointless. If you ask me, the event was not a "PvP Event", but simply an event held within the arena. You could have made it a nest party that players had to join and it would amount to the same thing.

I can understand that "newbie accessible" might have been one of the requirements for the event, but it was really disheartening to see only 3 or 4 pvp regulars get anything from the event out of 30 winners, barely avoiding being drowned out by the spamming of players who could probably count the number of pvp matches they've played on their fingers.

It seemed more like disguising a random book giveaway as a pvp event so the pvp community can't complain that you guys never do anything with us. It didn't even help grow the community either, as all those 10 pages of people went right back to Saints Haven when it was all over.

Still, I genuinely appreciate the effort. Despite my overall negative outlook, I look forward to seeing more attempts at PvP events from you guys in the future

I agree with having PvP events rewarded based on performance and skill rather than just handing it out, especially when the PvP community has been so neglected in every way possible. It'd be nice to have an actual PvP tournament.
