  • Classes with most/least skill rotations/effort?

Could also be interpreted as "skill floor" (loosely) but what classes require the most/least effort to play?

  • #2
Most effort Gear wise : Any Int class since Int stats is the most expensive right now.

Less effort gear wise : The Agi stat is the cheapest as of now, Healers are accepted even if undergeared a bit and Guardian is the only class requiring Vit.

Most effort for skill Rotation : Both Machina, easily the hardest to play right now, but Ruina DPS is great if you achieve it.

Easiest Class for skill rotation : Probably Ice Witch. They have a very easy rotation to learn, well-wanted in parties thanks to ice stacks, Ice barrier and -10% Damage Reduction for free. So they do alot of DPS while being tanky (and melee for it)
Main : I'm back to Pyromancer LOL now, always open to help and all kind of stuff on DN, hit me up <3

Least effort to gear/play in my case: Saint, Light Bringer, Ice Witch

They are taken literally for their buffs/debuffs/heals so no gear effort what so ever. Just don't die ~

Yeah, I can say that people don't really ask about IW's DPS as long as they can see you freezing. If you're just looking for a class that is easy to learn, War Mage is one of the simplest. Collect your bubbles to Laser Ray. There's one technique that you can use to increase your DPS, but that's pretty much it. Sorcs have simple rotations in general. In return, they don't have many iframes.

You guys are right about IW only being taken for their debuffs but Raven seems to be the most face roll class in my opinion. There isnt even a rotation to be learned its just debuff>spam everything else.

I'd have to disagree. The difference in damage output between an average reaper/raven and a really good reaper/raven who really know what they're doing is actually pretty huge.

The same can be said for classes like gm, oh just summon turrets and kite but gm is actually one of the harder classes to optimize. Raven just can spam debuff and iframe everything while staying out of harms way

Not sure about Valk, but CM has a high skill floor and ceiling.

Valkyrie Combo is repetitive and somewhat easy to learn imo, but landing it is another story. Chaos Mage is more about how to deal with Instant skill and Fast Forward since it's easy to lose DPS there... Machina is made to be hard and they went overboard for me D:

            So far... general consensus

            Easy: Ice Witch

            Hard: Machina

How would you rate barbs or destroyers? Glads are known to have a high skill floor, or what about guards/crusaders, or even the archer classes?

Mercs are forgiving with self heal, especially Destroyer but Destroyer is a support tank which is it's own issue. Barb is a melee burst class with long casts that can wreck you if you're not careful, similar weakness to machina. Machina is more mobile but barb has better aoe

glads are harder to optimize dps with and melee range makes them susceptible to dmg but they have a lot of iframes, almost like slower acrobats. Since they tend to be balanced in the mobility and dmg department it's a popular class but not as newb friendly as lk

Acrobats are mechanically difficult as they are the fastest classes in the game and controlling the speed is hard, not to mention your fingers will tire quickly, but they have the best consistent dps and mobility

Guard is easy to survive on but is a tank support with its own complications that make it not newb friendly, and a poor guard might as well be dead weight. Similar skill execution slowness as a destroyer, a bit faster in walk speed but way less aoe.

crusaders have that cleric tankyness going for them, slower than glads faster than barbs so they suffer the same weaknesses as those classes to an extent and also expensive to gear, they have ranged options which makes them flexibile

Warden plays close ranged to be optimal and has long skill casts but a lot squishier than barbs, in return they have a few more evasive maneuvers and can play at range (good fps is best otherwise skills glitch) Better aoe than sniper

sniper is easy to play mechanically but actually doing dmg requires a lot of thought and experience not to mention good aim and prediction. Poor in the mobbing and consistent damage department. they are a burst class (good fps is best otherwise skills glitch)

tldr: classes on the extremes (super short range like machinas, heavyweights like barbs, prediction reliant like sniper/inquisitor, or hyperactive like acrobats) tend to be difficult

The most popular classes are popular due to their ease of use, this includes tinks, clerics, elementalists, swordsmen, destroyers, assassins, sharpshooters, dancers

If a class isn't popular it means the effort it takes to play to output damage isn't worth it for most people

                Cool, thanks for your input.

Just seeing what classes to try out for fun

Defensio being the sole tank is honestly quite difficult. However, you can get away with stacking pure VIT in those cases so gearing isn't all too bad.
