  • "The economy is sh*t"

I've been hearing this phrase a lot and I don't think it helps anyone to say such blanket statements without explanation. A good analogy would be if you went to the doctor and said "I'm HURT!" ; the doctor asks "where are you hurting?" and you respond by repeating "I'm HURT!". It accomplishes nothing to repeat the same statements without holding discussion or providing your opinion on what the solution may be. In fact, I've noticed that the people who say the economy is sh*t are only doing so to justify their lack of success through endless resentment against something they have no control over, bad psychology.

With that said, I want everyone's opinions on:

What is wrong with the economy? What can be done to improve it? Explain what your solution would be and how it would stimulate the economy.

I'll reply to people whose ideas I think should be pressed.

    There aren't enough players.

I'll leave somebody else to explain the implications of that.

Initially, the argument was that gold generation in general did not match the server status for the hardcore players (ie enhancing L grades). L grades also became a requirement and common place for raid-participating groups, which you know, is an end goal for a lot of players. So, we had L grade enhancement rates for servers that made 2-3x our gold generation. Now? Probably what Shs said. Lack of population... though the economy isn't really that shitty anymore so...

To fix? Uh, maybe EC items being able to be sold on the market place, but only applicable to newly released items starting now. I'm sure it'd bring back some players as well as stimulate the economy to allow more items to be bought and sold. It's a solid compromise. Won't flood or destroy the cash accessory market by flooding duplicates from the past, but finally allow EC accessory trading.

Are you saying that we need to exceed a certain threshold of players or more players= better economy?

You should unpack this since I think I know where you're getting at.

More players would definitely make the market more stable.

Yah nobody cares about the economy

these new costume sets are more scary, you can just buy dmg with $$ if you don't have gold ez

the costumes gives like the equivalent of 3 Genesis ring stats so what's the point of getting Genesis and lgrades when you can get these and have lgrade dmg

Apple farming is more profitable than playing the game...

Current game design which doesn't have the population force to make it work...

Fees have gone up disproportionate to gold generation...

Not enough tradables, or rather most tradables aren't worth merching...

The outright lack of gold generation when compared to previous caps, besides Apple farming (we're the only server dependent on Apple farming)...

There is much more but I finally gave up, I don't trust ED to do the right thing for us players. Their logic will at last lead to our servers demise and it will be guided by their hand. Quick profits outweigh customer retention and satisfaction, this has only one outcome, ugliness still yet to come. Lack of professional ED staff, GM's that troll their own customers, lie about the "bot" problem ect. All of this is quite concerning which is why you made this thread.

Let us see if ED don't mark this thread as spam just to delete it and further keep their players in the dark...

make items actually worth npcing. its doesnt make sense that an apple of life (which isnt the highest item in demand) is worth than most accs, armors, etc.
i forgot bout other solutions so weeeee just throwing that one here.

and btw - apple farming only makes it worthwhile after months if u buy accounts and if u dont its only worth making those accounts if u can do 3 chars+ at once.
ddf is actually better as long as u have keys and doing the boosting event (pref drop rate 100% or better)

Every now and then this topic comes up and we have players who don't know how to make gold talk about the economy.

Apple farming is something that becomes worth it.

It's not hard at all to get to level 24 and if you do a few or so a week, you end up with an army of characters to make nice gold off of.

                        Key point, during drop rate.

Outside of that, level some characters and farm.

Agree 100%. You can't expect to put in minimal time and effort to gain end game gears. I do know that the economy was quite bad but I myself compensated by devising grinding strategies and putting the time to get the gear despite this. It's simple, the more you put in, the more you get out. If you wish to play dragon nest at its fullest, sitting, complaining and waiting isn't going to get you to your goals.

I'm hoping that the gold pouch update will fix the economy by providing a reasonable rng based gold injection system through gold pouch grinding (nests and treasure dungeons). I will have about 2k pouches to test the rng frequency of the u-grade item.

Lgrade enhancing is still stupid expensive but people manage to get them so economy is lookin better

the gold pouches net you 10g per nest run on average, so more people running content means more gold

also more people would mean more guilds, and more guilds that reach max level would have more sealed tablets, and more abundant talismans and grinders will mean more gold

the low population is punishing small guilds who don't get the benefits from sealed tablets, and grinding without one is gross
