  • DSSDN Guide ~ Nyerko ~ Adept

In this guide you will gain information on the new nest : Deep Sea Sea Dragon Nest

Boss #1: Lizards & Ogre: During this Phase there are a couple of things you need to pay attention to in order to prevent your team from take loads of AoE damage from incorrect actions.
    1. The poison spots on the ground
    2. The Ogre
    3. The Baby Lizards
First, you will receive messages in the middle of your screen indicating that the poison will erupt if it is not sustained. You and your party member's objective is to just dash or walk over each of the spots that glow "PURPLE". If you fail to stop the eruptions it will create a poison field temporarily around the spot about 2-3 times the size of the original spot.

Next, You will need to face the Ogre after defeating all of the low-tier mobs that constantly spawn around the area. This Ogre is pretty easy to kill in normal DSSDN, but make sure your team has the DPS to make sure he doesn't get the opportunity do any AoE attacks towards the party. Side Note: Once the Ogre Dies, a short phase of about 15-20 seconds will begin. You only need to touch each of the "GLOWING PURPLE SPOTS" that will constantly glow around the map.

Finally, You will need to kill the Lizard Boss to complete this area. 3 Lizards will spawn. 2 are shorter then the main Lizard, The Boss. The main boss cannot be attacked until the shorter lizards are eliminated. They don't have any mechanics to defeat them, just regular attacks you need to pay attention to, in order to prevent unnecessary health loss. Once you've defeated the short lizards you now can attack the main boss of the area. This boss only holds one mechanic your party needs to look for. One member of the party will be marked with an AoE that harms your allies. While, this is in effect, the glowing "PURPLE" spots will randomly glow bright all over the map. All your required to do is prevent them once again from erupting, thus making the main boss easy to kill after this phase is completed.

Boss #2: The Volcanic Golem : This boss requires your attention and communication using the commands DN provides from the F1-F6 keys or if your in discord, skype, etc it's easier to communicate to help bring this boss down swiftly. Because this is a boss that doesn't spawn minions in normals you only need to focus on Dodging and DPS. In Hardcore there are more things you need to look for.

    Normal DSSDN:
    1. Mark x2
    2. Teamwork

    Hardcore DSSDN:
    1. Marks x3
    2. Teamwork

    Both Normal and Hardcore:
    1. ( Teamwork ) There is a mechanic that requires teamwork. The Volcanic Golem will sit in the center creating obstacles around him. You and your party members objective is to attack these Ice shards that spawn at the edges of the map to collect a buff. This buff will show as a shield used to cool down the Volcanic Golem. As it reaches closer to be being completely cooled down, The Volcanic Golem will make the objective harder to complete by adding in more obstacles. This Mechanic is fairly easy once you get the hang of it.

    2. ( Mark ) The Volcanic Golem will start to bowl himself toward a Marked player. The player marked must dash his/her self around the map until the Golem stops chasing. He is vulnerable to attacks while he is bowling around. Look at this as another DPS moment.

    3. ( Mark )The Volcanic Golem has a Mark in which will be placed on a party member. This member will be the gateway to the safe zone of his MEDIUM DAMAGE AoE. The Golem will sit still for a moment. During this time there are 2 small green gaps within this AoE that will prevent you from taking Damage. This green gap will be responsible to the individual who has been marked. Other then that you will mainly be focusing on dodging his easy attacks and DPSing until he is defeated.

Hardcore Mode: ( Mark ) There are two marks you need to look for, One of them is previously stated ^ ABOVE ^ . The other mark is a DPS check. This mark once again will harm your allies, BUT I believe it will prevent you from taking any fire DoT because during this mechanic you will need to eliminate 4-5 Minions spawned by the Volcanic Golem. If not completed within the time frame then in Hardcore it may lead to a party wipe for most classes within the party. There is also a ring around each Minion spawned. If within the ring then you begin to take Fire DoT for the players that aren't marked. An Alternative that many people have been doing is just simply DPSing the Boss till it's dead as well. This mechanic doesn't start until 2x or 1x Health.

Other things that happen during this boss are simply Dodging and DPSing. stay aware.

Boss #3: The Minotaur (Scout Captain Norbak): In similarity to Ice Dragon Nest's First boss, this boss also carries an imbued blade or attack. What I mean by this, is that this boss also throws fire projectile Slashes AND Tornado's in the aggro'd player's direction. And yes, it BURNS.

This boss holds a medium amount of mechanics in contrast of The Volcanic Golem.

    What this boss contains:

    Both Normal and Hardcore:
    Mark
    Teamwork
    Mechanics x 3

    Hardcore Mode:
    Mark
    Teamwork
    Mechanics x 4

Both Normal and Hardcore: There are about 3 similar mechanics that both Normal Minotaur and Hardcore will be the same with very slight adjustments. Additionally, Norbak will scream out calling for cows to run by from both sides of the map. Look for the gap in between both waves of cows to avoid health loss.

    1. ( Mechanic ) Norbak will swing his Partisan/Axe into the ground and Dash toward one end of the map leaving a trail behind him. Once he reaches one end of the map, he will turn around and perform an AoE across the MOST of the map. To avoid this, all you must do is stand on either his left or right side of his body and spend that time DPSing him once you've reached the destination. Side Note: Even if your a Destroyer or Guardian I would not recommend tanking the DMG. The Fire DoT cannot be cleansed in DSSDN.

    2. ( Mechanic ) Norbak will create a checker's board of Red Squares. Simply stand on the squares that ARE NOT red. This mechanic is fairly fast just dance around and you'll be fine.

    3. ( Mechanic ) Norbak Will stomp the ground and create shock waves around that stomp. It's just like RDN's 3rd boss the Hecarim looking Boss ( for you league of legends people ). His stomp is a big circle, and the shock wave has gaps to stay safe. In short, Frogger to the safe zone.

    4. ( Mark & Teamwork ) Norbak will be invulnerable. During this time he is in a hack and slash spree, chasing the target that is marked. The MARKED PLAYER's job is to simply path his/her way around the map destroying Pillar-like Bones sticking out of the ground. Each Bone counts as 1 point toward the Objective total which is 40 Points. While this is all going on, Norbak has a rage gauge above the EXP/PWR HUD. Gradually Norbak will increase the gauge over time. Once it reaches full bar, he will explode causing an AoE party wiping MOST party members that aren't Destroyer or Guardian. To prevent the rage gauge from getting full, Destroy the Blue Crystals that spawn 1 at a time around 4 corners of the Area. With Teamwork this task is fairly easy to get used to.

Hardcore Mode: There is only one mechanic you need to look out for during 2x and 1x Health of Norbak.

    1. Norbak will relocate himself toward the center of the Map. He will spawn 4 Buffs over the map in a square formation. Simply get 1 per player before he stomps. Very simple with a team, Very hard with a Pub. Just communicate~

Boss #4 - Earth Golem (Golem Moltan): This boss probably has the easiest attacks to dodge. I say this because it's a slow movement boss, or Moltan makes it very obvious what he's going to do next. Thus, making this boss anxiety free from nearing completion of Hardcore runs.

    What this boss contains:

    Both Normal and Hardcore:
    Teamwork
    Mechanic x 3

    Hardcore Mode:
    Mark
    Teamwork
    Mechanic x 4

Both Normal and Hardcore: In Normal Mode, Moltan has a very easy procedure, DPS him. There is an unavoidable mechanic, but it's really simple and requires at least your first attempt to get it down to what needs to be done. I'll explain a little bit more in the mechanics section of this boss.

    1. ( Teamwork & Mechanic ) Moltan will create a green friendly tornado at the center of the map pulling all players towards it, and will create non-friendly tornadoes with red rings around the map actively in motion. One plant will spawn at each of the four corners of the map. Each plant will spawn an activator for the poison resistance shield needed to bypass the poison attack Molten is creating. One of the four plants will be much tankier and stronger then the others, thus creating a nuisance to your team and the time. Once all four activators are live, all players will be given the poison resistance shield and Moltan (after he hits the ground with his attack) will be vulnerable to attack.

    2. ( Mechanic ) Moltan will gradually spit a poisonous cloud at each player. IF any player is hit by the cloud, it will create a decent sized poison field (multiple players can be hit by this cloud).

    3. ( Mechanic ) Moltan will bind all players in place. It is preparing a triple stomp ( he's really using one arm idk what else to call it ). During this time, each player must shuffle tap both A and D ( if your a keyboard user ) to remove the bind. easy to dodge just pay attention

    4. ( Mechanic ) Moltan will burrow himself underground. In doing so, he will spawn roughly 50 green ghouls to distract you from his plan. After about 5-10 seconds, Moltan will shoot himself out of the ground and splash the ground, and yes It is a full map AoE.

Side Note: WHEN MOLTAN RAGES HE WILL BE MUCH TANKIER TO FIGHT. ( usually happens around 1x health ) In addition to this, Moltan will create somewhat indirect attacks around each player, similar to Desert Dragons Manticore boss. instead, it has radar-like animation versus manticores cracked sandstone animation.

Hardcore Mode: This next mechanic for Moltan Golem is a bit different from most mechanics of previous bosses in the past. Please read carefully the information about it below.

    1. ( Mechanic ) Moltan will lift his arm into the air preparing for two attacks. The first attack Moltan will create a triangular red area, target the MARKED player, and a mini golem will spawn. The yellow words that will appear on your screen will tell you to try to get Moltan to hit the golem with the AoE. If successful ( and most times it's hard to dodge the AoE while getting Moltan to hit the mini golem, so you may get binded and take dmg) the golem will create a safe zone to avoid his NEXT attack which a poisonous full map AoE.

Side Note: The mini golem will not always target the marked player, it will be random. ( I would prefer that if your pubbing DSSDN just focus on what will save the team, that being to get Moltan to hit the mini golem creating the safe area)

Final Boss: Deep Sea Sea Dragon - This boss is extremely easy but it's very complicated to do alone without the best gears. Most of the mechanics for the deep sea sea dragon only require you to watch for the timings to dodge. Here's a list of the mechanics and their explanations below.

Normal and Hardcore: I don't see any differences between the normal and hardcore dragon besides their damage and health increase.
    Mark x 1
    Rescue & Teamwork
    Mechanic x 4

    1. ( Mark ) Sea Dragon will mark a target forming a green radius around that player. This is a buff used to prevent you and all teammates within it from being silenced. Your part must utilize the green ring to walk around the map destroying the Ice formed around each cannon. In doing so, You are timed, attacked, and must move quickly before his rage gauge fills up.

    2. (Rescue & Teamwork ) Sea Dragon will randomly freeze a party member. Players that aren't frozen must quickly remove the ice by attacking their fellow teammate. Do not worry friendly fire is active, meaning the player being attacked will not receive any damage. IF your soloing there is absolutely no way to avoid this mechanic. Most players that record videos are taking the damage and simply killing the Sea Dragon before it happens again.

    3. ( Mechanic ) Sea Dragon will roar causing the screen the shake a little bit. While that's happening, 2 - 3 Danger spots will appear around each player. It's exactly like Desert Dragon when she first jumps into the air, fly's around the platform, then finally dashes forward and lands minus the flying part.

    4. ( Mechanic ) Sea Dragon will turn around creating a blue and black ring at it's tail. This will pull all players toward it with a huge force. If a player is within the ring after a few seconds, that player will receive great damage possibly killing the player. Pay attention to all forces of gravity in this nest.

    5. ( Mechanic ) Sea Dragon once again, will roar creating small blue and black circles in front of him. He is calling down ice shards to hit those small circles. All players are pulled toward the front of Sea Dragon. Simply dash away toward his sides or away from the dragon's front as soon as possible.
    d
    6. ( Mechanic ) Sea Dragon binds all players. He is preparing a Full Map stomp. Just unbind yourself by pressing A and D ( if your a keyboard user ) and jump before you take any unnecessary damage.

Thank you all for reading my guide on DSSDN and feel free to use this guide as you please~ Thanks a Bunch ~LarryNance, Nyerko

Hi mate the volcano golem has another mark, where a burning pool of lava will appear under the marked person, so it's good to run out of the way. It doesn't actually burn (at lest in normal) but it does DoT

That mechanic is only in Hardcore. At least I've only seen it in hardcore. and that's mainly because the boss has higher defenses. so we are unable to easily DPS through the mechanics.
