question about crest

is the only way to equip a new crest required to remove the old one?
cause i remember it would break but now i don't have the option to equip it without recovering the old one
(trying to equip a heraldy and i don't want to pay 144g for it)

it's unmentioned nor has any sort of tutorial introduced or was even stated officially in the previous patch notes, but yeah. i'll try and answer your query.

so when equiping your first crest it cost nothing
* doing so by right clicking and confirming also automatically places it into your available crest slots.

if you do not choose the allocated slot i believe it tries to use the top left rotating clockwise out of all the choices available.

this is also applied when you are replacing/swapping from Crest page and Inventory.
* there is a charging fee.

when swapping places within just the Crest page there is no charging fee so doing so.

if you pickup/left click and drop the item outside of the menu's you can choose to destroy the crest/item that you have previously clicked and dropped. yes/no
* there is no charging fee for destroying your items in general.
