Is it better for dark classes to focus on damage rather than elementals?

You should probably use attack/magic attack power instead of 'damage' to avoid possible confusion.

Dark (or spin off) class tend to have high elemental attack due to their passive accelerator. The only exception to this is Bleed Phantom, as he will lose 20% elemental attack in future update (estimated to arrive on NA/SEA server in July) in exchange for 20% extra STR and AGI. Try swapping your jade between attack and elemental, and use the following simplified formula to calculate which one would produce higher number.

Damage Output = ATK * (1 + Elemental Attack/100%)
