  • [GUIDE] 95 Cap Survival Guide

    Last Update: 5/30/2018

Hi! Welcome to the latest and greatest cap for Dragon Nest! This update took us by storm, and ED really pushed for it to be released ASAP. If you weren't completely ready for 95 cap and don't know what to do, I'm here to help. :^)

Prelude: What's Still Relevant From 93 Cap
Since the 95 cap update, there have been numerous updates pumping out new content, and everything from crests to talismans has a better 95 variant from this point on, so the only real relevant content left would be Rune Dragon HC and Rune Dragon L-grade equipment, since you can convert those directly to Calypso, skipping 95 epic & uniques (not recommended for the poor).

    SECTION 1: WHAT'S NEW
    1. Cerberus Dungeon

This month's patch introduced an old nest and revamped it to make it relevant. If you are a new character and just reached level 95, you will receive entry passes for this nest. As the holder of the entry pass, you will receive rewards that will help you gear up upon completion of said nest. General rewards, available to everyone, include different types of points. The entry pass holder will receive gold, jelly, spaera and upgrading materials. Team up with some friends and take turns using the pass! Only the party leader needs the entry pass.

    2. Moonlight Essence Event
This event is lingering from last month. If you still have the box, you can still complete it. However, new boxes are not given out.
Every nest and daily abyss dungeon now drops Moonlight Essence. Use these essence to open up a box that you will get on April 18 ~ April 25. This is a godsend for new players as the rewards they can get give them a full +20 Neris set, and if you really want to complete the event, a full T1 Medea +20 set including T1 to T2 converters. This will catch you up to the big bois in no time because you'll just be one step away from T1 Calypso gear. You also get a handful of enhancement materials. Just do your nests and dailies and you should have enough moonlight essence.

    SECTION 2: WHAT TO DO
This section will go over what the game has to offer once you're 95. If you're not 95 yet, head over to Alastor's guide on reaching 95. Once you reach 95, a new growth guide will be available to you, offering the same type but better goodies as it did in 93. By doing your dailies once you reach 95, you'll be rewarded with +8 Obsession Theano weapons.

    1. Dailies & Weeklies
Yes, dailies will always be relevant. By doing all 5 daily missions, you'll obtain a bunch of Neris equipment (95 Epic) to extract or sell, 1500 Dungeon Points, and a bunch of gold. By doing 5 more random 95 cap dungeons, or doing the slayer training grounds, you'll complete the 10 dungeon Daily Mission, rewarding you with various points!

Newly introduced are weekly missions that total up the amount of daily missions you've done, and reward you with things you can sell for gold. In total, if you do 50 daily missions a week, you can earn up to 2,000 gold (2,300 with golden goose) a week, as well as an additional 200 per day. #dailynest is back!

    2. Nests
With the new update, there's no excuse not to do your nests. Doing all of them will reward you with at least 800 gold income per week along with the rewards each individual chest gives. Every nest released after Granom & SDN have a chance of rewarding you with Ascension Cube, which is needed to evolve Genesis Accessories. Read more about Genesis Accessories in my 93 cap guide.
These are top-of-the-line end-game best accessories ever. You'll need various cubes to craft them, some of which take lots of time to get. As you play the game, slowly accumulate your way to them and you'll get there in a couple of months if you try hard.
Click image for larger version Name:	c279732d27.jpg Views:	1 Size:	16.5 KB ID:	97802

By doing your dailies, you will obtain 3 additional nest entry tickets. You can buy 3 VNHell passes, 3 GNHell passes, or 1 Mist Hell pass from Stashy every day. You can buy hardcore passes as well if you're not ready for the challenge. The nests, when cleared, will basically give you your money back and more. This is basically free rewards, GP, equipment, party reward, and attempts at Ascension Cubes if you have a sure clear party. If not, you can just buy the passes and save for a day where everyone is available. It's literally not worth it to not buy passes.

You should also do your limit nests. These are beefed up versions of your typical 93 nests, and give lots and lots of nest points. That's it basically. Along with more ways to get the coveted Ascension Cube. If you're feeling lazy for the week but still need your nest points, here's the place to do it. You get one clear per week for each of the 4 nests, and they reward you with an additional 35(?) gold each.

    3. Nightmare & Hero's Battlefield

Level 95 Nightmare has been added! This revamps the whole system (not really) with 3 difficulties, each rewarding more points! With these, you can buy new 95 talismans, which greatly outperform their 93 counterparts. You can extract these for fragments and essences to craft 95 Rare-grade talismans. Good luck, they're all random. :')
I get about 35,000 Nightmare Points per week doing Master difficulty.

    Hero's Battlefield
Technique Fragments. Now, 3 gold each doesn't sound like much. But it's easy, and the gear is equalized so you can do this on as many characters you want, 5+2 times a week. That's at least 49 fragments per week plus the reward for doing hardcore and getting ranked. that's at least 147 gold per week per character. If you're feeling lucky, craft the technique accessories and sell them off for even more!
    4. Mercenaries
Buy, synth, however you obtain your mercenaries. Level them all up and make sure they're constantly on missions. The new mercenary exploration boxes need keys to open, however the rewards are great. You can get at least 55 keys every day in about 30 minutes to an hour of playing Dragon Nest. The unique ones that you can't synthesize aren't as big a priority because they're super expensive, but it helps you complete more missions at once.

    5. Slayer
The Slayer update added 2 new things: a Slayer Training Grounds, which takes 150FTG per attempt (this is where you get pieces to buy entry passes) and Slayer Dungeons, which take 60 FTG per attempt (this is where you get Legendary Slayer Gear, which have the same stats as Tier 1 +20 Lv95 L-grades! These equips will have a future bonus of boosting certain skills (This idea may or may not be scrapped by ED, we'll see). All you do in these nests is kill a specific boss in a specific nest, and it drops Slayer points. Easy, right? Get to it!

    6. Cap Party Reward
Party reward, if capped, gives you 10,000 community points as soon as you cap it, and 10,000 community points the following Saturday reset. If you've seen the community shop, this is where you get your materials. 20,000 points to spend on each character you cap on can get you 4 Epic Gem Cores, or 40 Spaera, etc. Get to work! It only takes an hour or two of doing content to cap party reward. It's so easy and so rewarding!

    7. Be Social
This game is nice, but it can get boring when you're solo grinding your life away. Talk to people. Make friends. Get connections. If you're new, befriend some other newbies and watch each other's characters grow in power. Nest together. Join a good guild. Sure, you can do dailies and nests alone or in a random party, but this game, as well as any game, is more fun with people around you. Once you hit a good point in the game, go around and help other newbies out. This game needs community more than anything from what I've seen in the past. A game is only as much as its players make it out to be.

      SECTION 3: IN-DEPTH GUIDES

      1. Mercenaries & Daily Missions

      Mercenaries
I feel like this is such a big part of the 95 update that it deserves its own section. First off, you're going to want to level any and all mercenaries you have. You can buy them off of the marketplace, or synthesize 2 max level mercenaries of the same tier to get a random one of one tier higher. Leveling them can be done in either solo or duo parties, and gain a portion of the EXP that you gain from completing a dungeon/nest. Once you have your collection, send them all on missions by opening the menu (Default 'N') and clicking the bottom left button. This will bring up the mercenary mission menu, where you send them off and they come back with shiny boxes later depending on the mission time. You need 3 mercenaries per mission.

Rare Mercenary Pouch (Clear TKN Norm once/week) - one random Rare-tier mercenary
Mercenary Pouch (6000 Nightmare Points once/week, 1 RDNL wrath in Garden shop) - one random Rare~Unique tier mercenary
Mercenary Synthesizer (2 Max Lv Mercenaries of same tier) - one mercenary of a tier higher
NOTE: The only unique mercenaries that can be synthesized are the Rampaging ones. Gerrant, Argenta, etc. can only be obtained through Mercenary Pouch.

Now, what do you do once they're off on their mission? You can log off or do whatever you want. I recommend getting the keys that you need to open the rewards! Each 95 Abyss dungeon you do grants you either a Silver Dimensional Rabbit (1 key) or Golden Dimensional Rabbit (30 Keys).

      Daily Missions
Open your daily missions menu (Default 'V'). Here, you'll have 10 missions. The ones you need to focus is the one that gives Exploration Key Chests and the stash of gold. Super easy!
It requires you to complete most of the other missions, which may take 30 minutes to an hour max.

Once you have your keys and your boxes, open open open! Here are the rewards: (ripped from patch notes :^))

Tab over to your weekly missions as well. These can earn you 2,000 gold per week just by doing your dailies. Easy gold! Get Grinding!

      2. Slayer

Patch 95.2 has introduced Slayer Mode nests! This is new content to grind for people who are Lv95. To get started, talk to Frye the Explorer in Saint's Haven, and take his quest. Then, talk to Frye the Alpaca in Heart of Merca. Do a Slayer Training Grounds run. Talk to Frye again in Heart of Merca, and then again in Saints Haven. Tl;dr, just go finish his quest. You'll get 5 free tickets to Slayer Mode Nests. Now we can begin!

      Slayer Shards
Slayer Testing Grounds - 150 FTG / clear
Located in Heart of Merca, this is where you obtain Slayer Shards, which are used to buy Slayer Entry Tickets from Brother Elijah. There are 2 variants: Tradeable and Untradeable (it will say on the item). Each boss you kill can drop 3~4 tradeable shards, and there are 3 bosses per run. Being tradeable, you can farm these shards on other characters and transfer them to your main. You'll also get untradeable shards, which, of course, can only be used on that character. You'll be stocking up on these with your main character. Also, by completing the Slayer Testing Grounds once, a daily mission will reward you with 20 untradeable shards. There's also a daily mission that rewards you with 20 tradeable shards.

Each entry pass costs 5g (3.5g with goose) and 10 shards. Tradeable and untradeable do not mix (ie. You cannot buy a pass with 6 tradeable shards and 4 untradeable shards). Once you have these passes, it's time to move on to the actual Slayer Nests.

      Slayer Nests
      Garden of Eternity (Lv90) - 0 FTG / clear

Here is what you'll actually be doing with most of your time: Slay the bosses. Each nest with a slayer flag near the portal will let you select Slayer Mode, in which you select one specific boss from that nest to "slay". They have lots of HP, do way more damage, and have a chance of random events occurring (ex. A second boss may spawn). Each boss will drop 3~4 Slayer Points, and other things. The big one you're looking out for is Slayer equipment. Slayer equipment, although un-enhanceable, provides the same stats as a Tier 1 +20 Lv95 L-grades. In the future, they'll also provide boosts to certain skills. You can equip a maximum of 2 pieces of Slayer gear. By doing Slayer Nest 2 and 5 times, the daily missions will give you 100 Slayer Points each.

If you're having trouble clearing the mode, or just want to clear it faster, check which slayer nest is the daily one by hovering over the icon next to your minimap! You'll get a 30% damage bonus for doing the specified nest for the day. (Left-most icon pictured)

**On Thursdays, don't forget to get your drop rate bonus from Hot Springs! Very good bonus for going in Slayer Nest with drop rate!

Click image for larger version Name:	21d6c77bce.jpg Views:	1 Size:	6.9 KB ID:	98469

      Rewards
Each Slayer Equip costs 100,000 Slayer Points from Brother Elijah.

      ..
      ...
      ...........srs

Yeah. Fear not! Each specific Slayer Nest boss has a low percentage of dropping a piece of Slayer equipment! They're class specific, so look at this chart to see which nest drops your specific pieces! Credits to:

If, for whatever reason, your Slayer boss i̶s̶ ̶b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶t̶o̶t̶a̶l̶ ̶d̶i̶c̶k̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ doesn't drop your class piece, you can extract it for Slayer points. Grind for a couple of months, and you too can have OP Level 95 L-grades!

      Happy Grinding!

      3. Gearing Up

Y'all knew this was coming eventually, there just wasn't enough content to warrant a 95 guide yet :^)

EQUIPMENT: You now have only one different paths to choose from to get to the coveted Lv95 L-grade Calypso set.

Your first, and probably recommended option, if you're just starting out, is to get your full set of Lv95 Epic grade Neris equipment either from drops, or purchasing from your local blacksmith bois _elin. Once you get these, enhance them to +20. Then, using the _elin bois, crafty craft your sets of converters to go from Neris to Tier 1 Medea. Then, you're going to repeat this process. Get your T1 Medeas to +20, then convert them to T2 Medeas. THEN, get THOSE to +20, and crafty craft a Tier 2 Medea to Tier 1 Calypso converter. BAM!

Your second option has since been removed and is archived below.

ENHANCEMENT: Upgrade materials can either be farmed or purchased.

The first step, Epic stones, can be found by extracting Neris equipment or found in various point shops, exploration chests, and Normal difficulty nests.
Protip: Instead of extracting your +0 Neris equipment for 1 measly stone, enhance it to +10 for only the cost of gold, then extract it. You'll get 6 stones.

The next step, Unique stones, can be found in: blacksmith shops (20 E stones for 1 U stone OR 1 L stone for 15 U stones); Hardcore difficulty nests; exploration chests; Crystal Point shop; Community Point shop.

The last step, Legendary stones, can be found in: blacksmith shops (20 U stones for 1 L stone); Hell difficulty nests; Crystal Point shop.

DRAGON GEMS: These will take you years unless you mindlessly run content on all 40 of your level 95 characters.
      MAIN TARGET: Nest Points

Your main target will be nest points. Do your limit nests, and all of the other 95 level nests. Go to the nest shop and purchase your dragon gems. NOTE: do not purchase the fragments or cores. It's simply not worth your points. You can buy the individual gems and extract them for a chance at cores, which you'll probably get at least 2 and many fragments for the price of buying a single core. If you're good with a 95E gem, slap it on. But obviously we're going for the best of the best here.

Once you obtain a boat load of fragments and cores, go to your local blacksmith boi and craft the Unique gem. You'll need 200 fragments and 15 cores. Can't see the one you want? That's cause they're all RNG based. Yep. If you don't get the one you want, keep it or sell it. You'll need plenty of these to extract, because your next step is Legendary. These need 50 Unique fragments and 2 Unique cores, which means you'll need at least 52 Unique dragon gems for a Legendary dragon gem. At 1000 nest points each Epic gem, that's 215,000 points (average) for a Unique gem, which makes it 11,180,000 points (average) for a Legendary gem. See you in 5 years.

TALISMANS: A week's worth of grinding on 5 characters is enough to get you a talisman. Not as intense as dragon gems.
      MAIN TARGET: Nightmare Points

You'll be grinding out nightmare points for talismans. You have 3 per week. Do them in master, you get more points. Do them in a party if you can't do it alone. And if you can do it alone, carry your friends' alts and tell them to give you the talisman fragments and cores. These are also RNG based. It's not as bad, though. Once again, it's similar to dragon gems. Do not buy the standalone cores or fragments. It's simply not worth your points. For the price of one core (17,000 points) you could have 17 attempts at multiple cores.

Buy all of the talismans you can at 1,000 points each. Open them. The ones you want to keep are: what you don't already have, and Ultimate Talisman. Extract the rest for cores and fragments. Once you have enough materials (200 fragments and 15 cores), craft a Rare talisman (also RNG) and open it. If you're in a tight spot, sell it. You'll most likely be keeping it.

The cool thing about 95 rare talismans is you can add 2nd stat to a talisman instead of gambling every time you make a new one like how it was in 93 cap (gross). The talisman awakener takes 50 fragments and 5 cores, and has a chance (ED really loves their RNG) at adding a random (like really) 2nd stat to your talisman.

      CRESTS: Run your content.

Enhancement crests drop from running nests. Level 95 crests come with a guaranteed 2nd stat, which either has a low roll or high roll. You'll want to max out on a high roll of either your main stat, CDMG, FD, or damage. Crests are also purchasable using Rune Dragon L wraths, if you have a way of obtaining those.

Your purple crests are obtained from Rune Dragon Nest 8-player. You will be running 3 of these. Depending on your class, you'll most likely be running an Increasing (Stats), Striking (Damage & Crit), and Offensive (Damage). Some may opt for the other options, which give Defense and HP.

Your 4th one is the most important. The Lv95 Hero's Chaos Fellowship Heraldry is obtained from Wonderful Theme Park, using Wonderful points. These give an insane amount of stats, and are RNG-based when you craft them. You can obtain enough points to purchase 2 per day by doing the dailies. They give you 2 to 3 random stats, each of which have 3 tiers. All of the stats will be of the same tier, which means if you get max tier damage, you'll get max tier stats or something as well. Here are the following max tier stats for single main stat plates (it gets really weird with more than 1 main stat and I don't wanna bother with it because most of you won't want more than 1 main stat):
      Main Stat 1,600 2,500 3,100
      FD 500 800 1,000
      Damage 7,000 11,200 14,000
      Crit/CDMG 22,000 35,200 44,000
      HP 33,000 52,800 66,000
      Optimal attainable stat combinations:
Damage + FD, Main Stat + Damage + HP, Damage + Crit + CDMG

      Notes:
      • Main stat will never come with both crit & CDMG
      • Main stat + damage may or may not come with HP
      • FD only comes with damage
      • Dual main stats will come with lower each main stat, and lower damage
        • ie. Low tier main stat will be 800 stat and 4,400 damage, mid tier main stat will be 1,700 stat and 8,400 damage
          • I call these "half tiers", they only exist for main stat and damage - FD, crit, CDMG, and HP are unaffected by the half tier stat loss

        Golden Goose
There is no reason you shouldn't have the Golden Goose VIP membership. For only 2500 Golden Goose Faction points, you get a whole lot of benefits that will save you so much gold. There are many ways to obtain the faction points needed. While you do your daily dungeons, open the chests that you find along the way. And if that's not enough, the new Slayer dungeon bosses drop a bunch of them. By the end of a week, you'll have more than enough points to buy another membership.

        Golden Goose benefits:
        • 30% off NPC purchases
        • 50% off enhancement fees
        • 50% off repair fees
        • 15% bonus selling to NPCs

        NEW Basic Daily Routine:
        • Send mercenaries on missions whenever possible
        • Do dailies (~300 FTG)
        • Do 5 slayer training grounds (~750 FTG)
        • Do daredevil faire
        • The rest of your daily missions

**Since they fixed the slayer nest and changed how FTG affects dungeons, the old routine is no longer possible. Archived below for general info.**

        Daily Routine:
        • Send mercenaries on missions*
        • Do dailies 4x while in a daily party - IMPORTANT to lessen the FTG usage per dungeon from 60 to ~57 (-225ish FTG)
          • Take the daily quest from Sanders to complete the 5th "daily quest"
        • Do slayer training grounds 4x (3x if you did all 5 of your daily dungeons instead) (will reduce your FTG to 0)
          • If you have weekly FTG left, just keep grinding until you have 0 of that too.
        • Get 3 likes (+300 FTG)
        • Do slayer training grounds 2x (-360 FTG)
        • Grind slayer training grounds on alts
*By doing 4 daily dungeons and Sanders daily quest instead of 5 daily dungeons, you give yourself another entry to Slayer Training Grounds because of how FTG works: you can enter a dungeon with any FTG from 1 to the actual requirement. So having a little over 540 FTG will yield 4 entries to Slayer Training Grounds instead of 3. This way, you get more shards and are still able to complete all of the daily missions, yielding you keys.

**If you really want to do the 5th daily dungeon for the Dungeon Points and 8.6 gold, you can do so after you get your 3 likes for 300 FTG and before the 2x slayer training grounds.

***However, if you have extra 1000 FTG from V.eye.P, it does not matter whether you do 4 or 5 daily dungeons, the cutoff is the same.

Oh yeah, and some nests here and there somewhere in the middle. Mostly just Limit nests, SDNHC, Volcano/Guardian HC & Hell. IDN/RuDN HC if you can clear. Otherwise, IDN HC and RuDN Norms for passes for attempts at HC.

        Old Calypso Method:

By doing Rune Dragon HC runs, enhancing to +10 using the old enhancement system which is really expensive and has 33% success rate per level and then crafting a bunch of armor/weapon tuners to convert them to 95 L equipment. On average, the cost from +0 to +10 RuDNL is 30,000 gold a piece w̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶s̶h̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶b̶a̶b̶l̶y̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶c̶h̶u̶m̶p̶ ̶c̶h̶a̶n̶g̶e̶ ̶g̶i̶v̶e̶n̶ ̶r̶e̶c̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶*̶c̶o̶u̶g̶h̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶g̶h̶*̶ which is really taxing on your average player that's just starting out. Not to mention you need to be very geared and experienced to clear Rune Dragon HC in the first place.

Thanks for taking the time to read this guide. I hope all of the information gathered here will be of use in your Dragon Nest ventures c: I've been on indefinite hiatus since November, but coming back once in a while to raid etc. and seeing that t̶h̶e̶ ̶D̶r̶a̶g̶o̶n̶ ̶N̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶c̶o̶m̶m̶u̶n̶i̶t̶y̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶t̶r̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶c̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶d̶e̶a̶r̶ ̶l̶i̶f̶e̶ (#dnisalive) there's plenty of new content being added, I decided that even if I don't play actively, I should use my resources and extensive knowledge to help out other people who want to support themselves and get up on their own two feet but don't know how. What's the use of the key? You know, those keys where you can get from DQ. What are those keys for?

Those keys are use to open the box which are obtain from the remote dungeon exploration (rare box need 5 keys, epic box need 10 keys, unique box need 30keys)
