  • How to Have Fun ?

Any idea how to have fun playing DN for beginner/old player that does not want to spend money into this game?

Afaik.. when someone want to play DN for the first time, they will start the game without read any forum or guide. They will find that the combat in this game is amazing and they will love it, they leveling until lvl 30-60 by following main quest, then they will know about spamming dungeon to leveling up fast. When they reach level 95, they will become excited to do Nest, so they go to GTS to find a party but no one want to accept. So they tried to find other way by doing simple daily quest to earn some simple gear but its still hard to find a party. After a few week, they realize that to easily find a party and to able to try all the Nest, they need to spend real money otherwise they need to grind for a year to become same level with someone who just play a week but spend real money.

Sorry about long post and error grammar. Im just sad that everytime i want to do a comeback to this game, I cannnot because the game is to much Pay to Win. My friends also feel the same.

and sorry about my Negative Mind.
I'm so sick of this fake love ....

I started playing DN without using any real money even up until now (thanks to my bugged email). I simply immerse myself in the game by following the main quest, and of course it won't be fun without socializing with players in the town (but this day, you might find the town depressing, mostly in beginner towns, except for saint haven. But comparing from it, for me, saint haven is the most depressing, because of afk people, noisy people, scammers, people that aren't afk but simply ignores you. And when you reached max lvl, and you find daily/weekly tasks / nest raids boring, you will find relaxation when you go hang out to beginner towns). You might find the dungeons repetitive, so you might be bored.

There's a thread where there's a guide for newbies, created by "Shovels" (forgive me for lack of research).

I also suggest playing a game with a similar playstyle called "CrossCode" (but in 2D), you can download a pirated version (only 200+ mb) if you have no money (By simply typing in Google the title of the game I mentioned and add "free download" on it).

      What am I even saying

Be glad that there is a dedicated game forum. You can find newb guides in here. Heck, even Google can give you newbie guides for DN. Researching a bit doesn't hurt and goes a long way.

As for a penniless-way to play, you have no other choice but to grind. Run DQ/Nests, sell items you don't need. DN is definitely a more 'newb-friendly' game now (nope, I said game, not community). Find yourself a nice guild. Be friendly when you find parties. The game in itself is so repetitive it bores you fast. But with the right amount of social interaction, it gets more and more fun.
DN is not a easy-to game like DOTA or other MOBAs. In order for you to enjoy the game more, you need to dedicate yourself into making your character stronger as well. I know a lot of people who didn't spend even a single coin for this game, but still got into good items. I'm not scaring or bullshtting you that DN requires a lot of time for you to build your character. If you can't convince yourself to do that, then either pay your way to win or just leave the game as it is not tailored for you.

U and ur friends i guess can do lower level labyrinth to have fun with since its just more less the same anyway on higher levels except it hits hard. I'm mostly playing on my own these days and just settle at a certain level labyrinth, it gets boring tho. Urself in DN is like a job CV, they prolly mingle with u if theres anything good from u and rejects if its the other way around. It works playing alone, doing simple nest and contents not raids obviously. Sad reality.

To be honest, I don't see the game as pay to win at all. My problem is the community. If you are able to find a friendly guild/small group that does not demand, expect, or even ask too much from you and your friends, then maybe you'll be able to have a little more fun playing this game.

          Hmmm.
Grab atleast a small circle of friends to play with.
          Make or Join a guild.
          Set a lower expectation standards.
Make fun with some stuffs like nesting.
          Breathe air nicely.
          Sleep well.
Always look straight to your goals, conquer them all and have fun.

If you're a guy who likes a lot of alone time and no BS toxicity from othr people well grinding alone is the best ( except storm arena, you are forced to play with othrs there )

You want to have fun . . .
Doing the contents are the only way to have fun in any game. So I dont see anything wrong with needing to grind from the bottom.

Everyone started from the bottom, me myself takes a year, yes a year, of casually farming and playing to reach a level where i can join and do a raid. (No I didnt do any top up at all, just take advantage of free to join event and join a guild, make friends).

Why did you put ‘reading a guide’ etc in a bad light tho? After a few weeks of gameplay, if you like the game enough, you’ll do your research, how to maximize your growth and how to be efficient. Along those lines you will also try to find a guild to grow in, which is an essential part of any mmos. From grinding, researching, and then finally join a community, those are all part of the fun. Getting to know the game more every step. That 1 year wont feel that long.

This feels more like a rant than anything. Why are you againts grinding, thats what you do in any game, put in effort and you’ll see your effort bear fruits. Why pay attention to p2w people? Does that makes you enjoy the game less? For me it doesnt.

So ask yourself instead, what makes playing a game fun for you?
Do unto others what you want others do unto you

When I got bored already with all the daily grind to farm for gold and items, I get the fun out of DN from PVP. DN's PVP I think is the best from among all the MMOs I've played and the least Pay-to-Win content in DN since you can out-win anyone in PVP not because of your wallet but because of your piloting skills. Sadly, this content is the one that is left behind the most. This is just my personal preference but if you're a PVE guy and you don't wanna spend a single dime into the game, I think it would take you months (or even years) of farming just to get end-game items which gradually gets obsolete every time there's new update. Also, be ready for Gacha events that gives out free items like what they did a few months back when they gave free +20 Medea Tier2 set which can surely crush your motivation in farming in game. Imagine after spending countless hours of farming just to get to +20 Medea Tier2 set then suddenly ED launched a Gacha Event that gives the same set for free in exchange of 5,000 CC. lol.
