hey guys im new to this game and im still currently downloading it and when its done i really need some help and guides in the game to help me embark enthusiastically because im a fan of mmorpg games and i'm disconsolated by the fact that my old favorite game which is luna online which is dying.

i have a question is the mage class good in here?

so thats all i hope that i will have a lot of new friends in here

    1. Choosing your character

I wish I could say every class is balanced, but unfortunately you'll see that certain classes are definitely above others. I would recommend Artillery, Inquisitor or Dark Summoner since those three are definitely among the most powerful (though Dark Summoner will have to wait a bit until January to be that powerful), but don't let my suggestion affect your choice. Just play whichever class you like, since class ranking is susceptible to change)

    2. Leveling to 95

Reaching level 95 should be your top priority before everything else, since that's when the game really start. Remember, no FTG = can't enter dungeon = can't increase level. Here's my personal leveling spots:
    • Level 1 - 9 Follow main story quest
    • Level 9 - 16 Raider's Den (1st Specialization Quest at level 15)
    • Level 16-24 Dark Tower Magic Institute
    • Level 24-32 Dark Overlord Keep
    • Level 32-40 Forsaken Islet Core
    • Level 40-50 Riverworth Ruins (2nd Specialization Quest at level 45/50 depending on your class)
    • Level 50-60 Mutant's Habitat
    • Level 60-70 Golden Meadow
    • Level 70-75 Abyss of Heat
    • Level 75-80 Wailing Wall
    • Level 80-90 Blue Wind Plains
    • Level 90-93 Red Waste (Awakening Quest at level 90, unavailable to spin-off classes like Dark Avenger etc)
    • Level 93-95 Abandoned Wharf
    3. Building equipment

Do not be disheartened when you see uber-powerful players with high-end gears, almost everything can be obtained with enough grind (and some amount of luck). You may opt to increase the number of characters in your account, but I'd suggest leaving that option for now until you can afford decent gear for your previous character (good enough to run Heatwave Volcano Nest HC with party). Start with Neris equipment, and enhance your way to Calypse (legend grade) equipment.

    4. Plan everything

Rather than wasting away your precious skill initialization scroll, it is better for you to plan your build by checking out Dragon Nest skill simulator. Though it's not mandatory, staying true to your ideal build will save you from unnecessary usage of skill reset.

My alternatives (favourite) dungeons for levelling is:

Level 24-32: Wonderful Theme Park -> Spartan Globins & Flooded D. Ruins
Dark Overlord Keep and FDR (forgot the full name) is quite lengthy. I would suggest to limit the Spartan Globins and get as high level as you can, then only level yourself at the dungeons.

Level 32-40: Gate to City of Death
GCD has a shorter path to clear, but it is separated into 3 different maps which is inferior if you has a wood PC, where FIC has only 1 map and requires no intermediate loading.

      Level 50-60: Closed Ice Valley
CIV has the shortest path of all dungeons in the game, so the reason is quite obvious.

Level 90-93: Blue Wind Plain, Awakening quest & Entering Radames.
This is a bit trickier. Entering Radames after you reached level 90 will grant you one free level (Eg: Entering as level 90 will become level 91 instantly). You have also Awakening quest at level 90 which give you quite a lot exp. Blue Wind Plain can be cleared until Level 91 before the EXP become significantly lesser, and the path is shorter than Red Waste. Hence, I would suggest continue levelling at Blue Wind Plain until level 91, do your awakening quests, then only enter Radames for that free level. If you still did not reach level 93 then grind in Red Waste.

A splendid suggestion if I ever saw one. I often miss the fact that Spartan and Hessian goblin can yield a generous amount of exp.

I agree with GCD having a shorter route, but since my wood PC can't load each section fast enough to warrant faster leveling, I'm leaning more toward FIC due to it having only 1 large map.

Discounting loading time, Closed Ice Valley is indeed among the easiests dungeons to clear (having only 2 small sized maps). But again, because of the loading, I'm more inclined to choose Mutant's Habitat. Not to mention that shield-wielding orcs are might be annoying for classes with low sab. Still a very viable leveling spot, nonetheless.

Actually, I'd suggest players to do their awakening quest as they level up from 90-93, instead of doing awakening quest only after reaching 91. With enough EXP boost, ones can easily attain level 91 by the time they finished their awakening quest. Spin-off classes might opt to just go straight away to Rhadames and Red Waste since they won't benefit from awakening quest.

    1. Mage Class
Since you mentioned you are new, and I assume you are not going to dump buckets of money into the game, I would suggest Elemental Lord > Elestra. Elestra is ice attributed semi-support class, and can ice-stack the mobs, giving extra damage debuff to them, hence increasing your party overall dps significantly in nests/raids. In this game, being pure DPS class would need you to have decent gears, therefore starting with a supports may provide you chances to farm your gears for your another soon-to-be main DPS character, if any.

    2. Level to lvl95.
Before the max level, the game is merely an introduction for you, including your skill usages, game mechanics and etc. The best dungeons had been listed out by NearLawlet above. Just follow that.
In addition, you will have an item called "Level Achievement Box" where you can open it every level once. Save it and dont open it until you get familiar with the game so that you know what is valuable inside and dont waste it.
At Level 15, after first class specialization, you will get a quest from Event Planner Irine that you can get a free skill reset scroll. Save it for future use.

    3. Equipments
First is the grade of the equipments in here. Normal (white) -> Rare (blue) -> Epic (brown) -> Unique (purple) -> Legendary (red). Currently the best starting equipment would be Hero Neris set (Epic), which can be bought from NPC himself. Search for any blacksmith in the town, and you can buy from there. Remember Hero Neris has an extra stat in-built, so look carefully and buy the one with INT.
Upgrade them to +10 first, as starting from +11 the item will break by chances, and you will need Jelly to prevent it which is costly for a newbie.

    4. Accessories, Heraldy, Talisman.
Acc - You will need Nest Point to buy it from Nest Point Store inside NPC Dark Priestess. So I would suggest you to buy it from Trading House (Market) instead with some golds.
Heraldy - We have three kinds of heraldies in this game: Normal (Epic), Fellowship (Unique), and Skill. This would be a bit complicated but easy to catch up. Normal and Fellowship heraldies give you stat, Skill heraldies enhance you skills. Just go to Trading House and browse Heraldy section and you will know.
Talisman - Same thing as above, just go to Trading House, browse and you will know. In your Character Window, you can total wearing 8 Talisman with different % amplifications: 2x 100%, 2x 75%, 2x 25% and 2x 0%. Just wear Intellect (INT) and Magic (MATK) Talisman at 100% for double stat.

That would be my suggestions in starting up in this game. By the stage of 4., you should have an overall image of this game, and may start your own journey. Anyway below are the Magician/Sorcerrer forum section for you reference. Happy gaming.

Main story quest serves as an introduction for you to better learn about the lore of Dragon Nest world. The story itself is quite engaging, and I would advise you to follow it through completely when you have the time, if you like any fantasy lore.

The problem is, you'll likely to level your character way faster than the story itself can progress, and sometime you will find yourself being sent to a lower leveled dungeon (i.e level 40-50 dungeon when you should be leveling at level 50-60 dungeon). Since FTG (fatigue) basically limits the number of times you can enter a dungeon, doing main quest will more often than not slows you down. Not only because it will require a lot of talking with NPCs, but also because some dungeon just takes longer to clear than others.

If you want to level up quickly, just ignore the story quest and grind your way up to 95. Certain class may do extremely fast on certain dungeon (i.e Windwalker in Flame Canyon level 70-75) since they can just skip part of the dungeon, but I believe people will agree that (in general) the dungeons on my list is best for leveling. At the very least, 80% of those dungeons are inarguably the fastest and easiest to clear.
