  • Game Improvement Suggestions

    Dear Tasha and Company,

    Hello!

    Below are suggestions from our guild. We pooled them in our Facebook group since the news of DN publisher change came out. I guess it is about time to air them to you guys.

    1. Make the guild system, that is player guild membership, account linked. It means when a player character joins a guild, all other characters in the game account automatically becomes a member of that particular guild. This may sound absurd or looks like a lot of work for the game developers but it is going to be an awesome feature.

    2. Make the guild base/house a permanent feature and make it available/achievable to/by every guild.

    3. Revive PVP by:

    3A. Introducing automated matching system for guild versus guild battles. A permanent guild base comes in handy with this because it can be used as the starting point of guild versus guild matches. Then hold weekly/monthly/quarterly tournaments via the suggested automated matching system. And please just in case, don't forget to reward winners of tourneys with a plaque or inscribed parchment or trophy or whatever that can be seen by everyone at the Colosseum (and other stuff). Plus a Lagendia-wide announcement that "Guild XYZQWERTY" has won the weekly/monthly/quarterly tournament - very much like when the Rune Dragon is killed.

    3B. Introducing automated matching system for skirmishes ( 4 v4 or 5 v5 or any setup). Starting point is at the Colosseum. This would be similar almost to DWC. Don't forget the rewards too.

    4. Introduce spectator mode in PvE. If we can spectate in PvP, why can't we in PvE? Make it at least available to guild runs exclusive only to guild members.

    5. Hire game masters that are at least available for 8 hours per day and hire specialist forum mods who will proofread first the terms and conditions of an event before posting. We've had enough of a lot of confusion due to misinterpretations and whatnot - just because the mod who published an event somehow just posted it verbatim.

    6. Increase the number of crops that can be planted at the Farm to at last 20 and reduce the time to harvest.

    7. Introduce Couple or Marriage system. Nice to have primary features would be shared inventory and shared Hero system Exp.

    8. Add a record of "Sent to" feature in the in-game mailing system. We have a record of received mail, the INBOX, but we don't have "Sent to"

    9. Remove gender lock. in character creation. (Definitely too much coding here and definitely NOT aligned to the story-line; there should never be a male Kali imo - just included it to please the one who suggested. I'm sure if there would ever be DN ver 2, there would be no more gender lock.)

      There is a "DN ver 2" out, and yes it is not gender locked. It's not a simple matter of copying and pasting the code, however, plus the development teams are different.

        3. doing group pvp while the pvp side is pure chaotic is kinda stupid, sorry. it's not going to improve the pvp quality or popularity that much.

        1. I don't think the developers shall solely rest the decision to this suggestion, if it is ever going to be decided or not or if its going to be "read" by Tasha et. al. in the first place, on whether you or anyone "want" to park all characters in a guild or not. I or maybe a few, expected a bit more than that. I and some people I know have reasons for suggesting this. Would you care to state the cons of this suggestion other than you don't want it? If there isn't any, its OK. I'll post the reasons at an appropriate time though..

        3. Hmm...If ever, again, if it is ever going to be decided or not,,,blah blah blah, don't you think the developers, along with it, are going to fix issues that we experience now in PvP? I say think out of the box! Think beyond what is presented to you. Think about the posited scenario in suggestion 3 without the "pure chaotic is kinda stupid" experience.

        7. This is funny.
        a. "no, NOOOOOOOO.... people would end up marrying their own character..." Would you please state whats not right with marrying their own characters? I know a few downsides of this but I'd like you to mention them.

        b "all of those blue bird drama would all be about a horny teens being scammed by a g.i.r.l because 80% dn sea population is full of desperate horny teens looking for love." Well being scammed can be abated by suggestion 1. Not saying that is a 100 % solution to being scammed though. But it would help. Yeah that's one of the reasons of suggestion 1. Anyhow, I'd like to read a solid reason why suggestion 7 is no good.

          This could cause potential problems, But I for one would say that a great idea would be to increase the maximum amount of members to 500 at level 40, or increase the maximum guild levels, moving on from that you should be able to have options to have your accounts in other guilds if you would like to socialize and meet more people.

          Yes. this honestly should have been done from the beginning...

          Player vs Player needs an over haul, Awakenings and Dash ( from non warriors) Needs to be removed, and there should be some sort of balance and changes on skills based on what you are doing similar to Elswords system where their skills in PVP and PVE doesn't have to be the same thing, this can already be done as proven by how Light Fury can use float in PVP themself, but in PVE they have a clone do it for them... The game needs do do that with most if not all of the PVP skills to revive and balance it.

          4. Introduce spectator mode in PvE. If we can spectate in PvP, why can't we in PvE? Make it at least available to guild runs exclusive only to guild members.

          Good idea, I could see some tweaks such as allowing players to spectate PVE content if the option is set to allow so in their party, with a password lock that you can enable.

          5. Hire game masters that are at least available for 8 hours per day and hire specialist forum mods who will proofread first the terms and conditions of an event before posting.           Actually, have you heard about the Farm updates in 95 cap? The farming gets a reboot and they change the ways to obtain seeds, as well as the gold production!

          I actually support this Idea, but you should have a shared inventory that is separate from your Inventory... so you can choose what Items to allow them to take if needed.

          Some features I would suggest would be...
          -Wedding hall ( Which would provide a use for Saints Haven Castle ) And you are allowed to invite friends who receive gifts for attending.
          -Bonus passives when partied together with them
          -Daily login rewards
          -Wedding Vanity Costume.

          Another great Idea.

          The upside of this one is exactly the opposite of the reasons for dismay. It can help avert scamming as well. But first, let me describe further what I have in mind with this account link system. Account link in the context of my suggestion does not mean all 17 or so characters of the player account will be listed altogether in the guild roster.

          For illustration (without visuals sic): At the start, lets suppose all my characters have no guild. Then I join IGN Azonia in Guild XYZQWERTY. The guild master changes Azonia's rank to SGM. So therefore the guild roster of Guild XYZQWERTY would show Azonia as a Senior Guild Memberr. Then I go to character screen and change character to IGN Halimbawa...and then Halimbawa would find itself already a member of Guild XYZQWERTY. Heres the trick part: The guild roster would show Halimbawa with an aka Azonia suffix and with a rank of SGM too. So in effect, there is no need to increase cap membership (currently at 280). That's the account link that I have in mind.

          It can definitely discourage scammers and thwart spying particularly during competitive community events, etc. But those are just bonuses in my point of view. A multitude of players who complain about scamming would put a premium on that one. So, for me, the real heavy score is that it can greatly improve the Guild System of Dragon Nest. What are guilds for, right? Aren't they suppose to build and foster stronger relationships among members? Socialization is not an issue because that aspect it is person based. Having multiple guilds is just a conduit of socialization but it is not the answer to all of anyone's social needs. Having a social life in game does not stop by having just one guild alone. Look for example at the Lagendia adventurers in Ch 5 or Ch 1. They are chatting in public yet when you look at their guild tags, they are all from different guilds! I believe the benefits of of the guild account link system are far greater than this particular need for socialization.

            Yeah that was one of the things I had in mind when I said that it could cause problems, some people don't want to be known or want to meet other people! I also thought of the guild storage problem as I admit to having multiple guilds for storage! I didn't think about the stopping scammers though that could be a great way to deter that!

            I for one would think it would be a great idea to rework the channel chat too, so players from different guilds can form together with their friends and socialize.

            You made some really good points too~ I need to make a suggestions too when I get the time~

          Hey someone from Na chiming in.

          Firstly, a few of these ideas are pretty good (to the point that they should’ve been in the game from the start). But I find the rest of them either questionable or simply unnecessary.

          1. I can’t speak for others, however I myself wouldn’t want all of my alts in a single guild, and if I did, I would simply add or submit them to be recruited.

          *A work-around however can be that Guilds can have an option upon either creation (for an extra cost), or upon reaching a certain lvl (let’s say level 15)
          to activate the guild-account link, which will act similar to how you described it in your post. Players will be notified upon this when they choose to submit their request to join the guild.

          *This way, players can know which guild have the function active and those who don’t want their account shoehorned into such guilds can choose to avoid them.

          3. I won’t comment on this, since I don’t pvp

          4. This is somewhat unnecessary imo, after all pvp and pve are two different contents. If you really want to
          ppl to watch your runs, you can either record or (assuming you got the specs) livestream them.

          5. Not much to say here, but they definitely need people who can/will at least proof read the event details to avoid confusion.

          6. Won’t comment on this either.

          7. I’ll say this much, the whole marriage/couple system has a lot of potential in just about any game. What ruins it
          however, is usually the playerbase. I can say with no hesitation that a system like that would be tainted and overrun
          by vulgar immature children in our version and quite possibly in Sea version too.

          *Again, the idea would have potential; the problem however is the playerbase.

          * Normally, with any other game I’d say no, however considering the game’s lore + the number of classes including other
          factors such as costumes, skill & character animations, class names, etc., I’d say that DN is one of the few games, that should and will stay genderlocked.

            I remembered the game Zeon with that marriage system. a couple had a ring that levels up along with their intimacy when they party and do dungeons together

              if every char in 1 acc being binded to one guild, the guild will be full of alts. I'm pretty sure you are well aware of how many alts people have in 1 account. and I honestly dont think increasing the maximum guild member is a good idea either because it will be a real pain in the ass for the gm/vgm/sgm to check who is still active and who is not, who is a scammer who need to be kicked, who is not, etc. and how are the gm/vgm/sgm supposed to know who is who? would people really going to be honest saying "yeah man that is my alt blahblahblha" I doubt so.
              please dont tell me each char binded in the guild gonna have something like login id next to their ign, because that would be really stupid.


              3. Hmm...If ever, again, if it is ever going to be decided or not,,,blah blah blah, don't you think the developers, along with it, are going to fix issues that we experience now in PvP?               again, pvp is really ridiculous right now, sure, thinking out of the box is good sometimes, but not for this one. I prefer they focus on balancing class first before throwing out more pvp content, why? because if they add something like what you are suggested above there will be nothing but salt and grief from those who play, and most of pvp-er are a prideful TT-er who dont know how to shut up so rather than revive the pvp, it will only worsen the current condition.

              2. not really about right or wrong, but it is really pathetic to see. alright alright I get it, this is just a game, but still, it's pitiful to watch.
              3. this game is not well suited for a dating sim like games, because look, most of the character are still underage, it's just so wrong in so many ways even though the one playing the class is actually a functioning adult.

                Sorry but I can't agree with No.1.
                It's sad you chose to put that first :x
                I don't want all my chars in 1 guild, my guild would go full with 10-20 people only. That's a horrible idea, specially when you didn't specify increasing guild slots.
                But even then, I would want to join other guilds, my friend's guilds, my main guild, my solo guild etc..

                  Your suggested work-around to suggestion 1 is fantastic! Entails extra coding though, if ever, you know...but its gonna be awkwardly awesome! And I suppose it would mean that this feature would be mutually exclusive.

                  As regards to number 4...well it may not be relevant or not necessary but I like to think that it is going to be beneficial to many. Besides, it would be a nice feature to have, doesn't it? its going to be a game changing feature in DN. Throw in password lock and make it guild run exclusive. Or party leader can choose to enable it. Something like that.

Heres the trick part: The guild roster would show Halimbawa with an aka Azonia suffix and with a rank of SGM too. So in effect, there is no need to increase cap membership (currently at 280). That's the account link that I have in mind.

                    It can definitely discourage scammers and thwart spying particularly during competitive community events, etc. But those are just bonuses in my point of view. A multitude of players who complain about scamming would put a premium on that one. So, for me, the real heavy score is that it can greatly improve the Guild System of Dragon Nest. What are guilds for, right? Aren't they suppose to build and foster stronger relationships among members? Socialization is not an issue because that aspect it is person based. Having multiple guilds is just a conduit of socialization but it is not the answer to all of anyone's social needs. Having a social life in game does not stop by having just one guild alone. Look for example at the Lagendia adventurers in Ch 5 or Ch 1. They are chatting in public yet when you look at their guild tags, they are all from different guilds! I believe the benefits of of the guild account link system are far greater than this particular need for socialization."

And GM also accepts character who is active and is able to participate in guild runs (preferably w/o being burden). Until there is the max number of members in the guild any extra characters will cause only problems.

                      Early P.S. You mentioned the postfix to new characters with the IGN of 1st joined the guild. I think it would be easier for all to see not IGN #2-9 = IGN 1 but IGN 1@mail* instead

                      Points of view of guild members were already mentioned so I'll add GM's. I'm not GM but I can imagine obvious question any GM might have: Who all this characters are and why for they are in the guild?

                      SEA player is known to have XX characters (or even accounts) and usually the most of them (characters) are inactive so it will be only the waste of member slots. In such case it is easier to add member manually than latter to kick off 100500 twinks out of the guild (with checking who is who's 1st).

                      Another problem is related with withdrawal rights. One 'fine' day member who earned credibility and who has several character in that guild does .. guess what? - Yep, he wipes the guild storage. Not all GMs are so responsible to have an absolute, full, total control over the guild. Some wants to 'socialize' aka have friends and trust them. I know one GM who used to make all members either SGM or VGM just because he is friendly and nice person. I mean such option most probably will give a new field for scammers.

                      I'm sorry for such long post (and English) and I'm sorry if this reply is too emotional or unfriendly like. I really wish your suggestions and efforts to make DN better were noticed and approved by developers. Especially 2, 4 and 8. And maybe unnamed wish to increase inventory space as well c:

                        I do not agree with.... most of the ideas posted on this topic.
                        especially the #1, scammers would be upset if their scamming character is put up on their guild, and notice that "Hey! that IGN is familiar... thats the one that scammed me! who owns this character?!"
                        just kidding, but its still not a good idea, rather i would like to see that guild membership would be improved such as an automatic daily guild seal expedite, to which whenever a character logs in, it will automatically adds up a default of 100exp to the guild seal board to which will be less hassle at times, players tend to ignore that as well or they do not understand how to expedite some GEXP towards the guild seal board in order to level it up, reward hardworking players with variant jade fragments in order to enhance their variant jade to which is powerful than a regular jade, exceeding the stats given by like what? 75% more bonus.

                        #2 since i dont know about that guild base, nor it existed,i won't have a comment on that

                        #3 i dont understand this since i don't do pvp.

                        #4 it would hinder svc runners income for gold, thats why there is too few guide about raid nests especially in HC since they want it to be kept a secret, they hard worked for the run, why let others see how it turns out rather than do it yourself? i would definitely say no to this, it would make players lazy, is that what you want?

                        #5 ED is not like CC, they are responsible for the events, they will be responsible if any misinterpretations were introduced in an event where it will lead to confusions to players, i just hope they hire good translators, because the new DNSEA site has some... bad... gremmer... not really upset about that but... its cringey

                        #8 thats good, i would like that, and then when you sent the mail to the wrong person you should actually get the chance on retrieving the mail with the content, most people send some gold or items on to their other characters to save tax from putting items on server storage, but sometimes they spell their character's IGN wrong and dump the gold to another player's character, which is rather sad but their fault as well.
                        and this will also record to whomever sent all the items and gold you have when your account gets hacked, game moderators could actually see this as a gateway of banning the hacker, this could determine that your account got hacked by the owner of this IGN's character, contact that player, see if they receive anything that you own etc, well i dont know maybe this is just a dumb idea but oh well

                        #9 no please, this game is right as it is, we don't want any opinions about genders change on characters ingame, go play another game if you are not satisfied with it, this is actually making me frustrated because you are not contented of what the game offers to you and your guild mates
