Can't enter card again

I tried to enter a $10 gift card into the EC total payment method and it told me I didn't have enough funds, so I went with the $5 method and it worked, and when I tried to enter the card again to get the full amount of said card, I was told my card has been blocked? Any help?

Jk I get it, but I'd love to know where the hidden fee went that cost me $2.95, given that there was absolutely no warning of any fees at all and there's no taxes on this stuff in my state.
