My Game freezes up whenever I hit the "Purchase EC" on Steam

Like the title says my game freezes up whenever I try to purchase from inside the game while using the steam client. I am trying to use my steam wallet to purchase EC but the game will freeze whenever I hit "Purchase EC".

Did you experience that only on Steam version?

Yes, the non steam works fine.
Edit: It seems the steam overlay was off all is fine now.
