Patch Failed Steam Version

My Friend has the steam version for Dragon nest but he always get patch failed on the 1/4 on the bar. He tried that patch from TomBradyDaGoat, It allowed him into the game but he would get a black screen on the character selection screen

Either retry everything or try to download and install the game through the Game Client version, either the full or multiple parts. I don't know enough to be able to help w/ "a black screen on the character selection screen" to give a real solution to it. Sorry.

Game Clients are downgraded why must DN suffer the same downgrades?
If Game Client auto patch is unavailable then players have to do the manual patches
which is really impossible given the unpopular glitches of DLC that is DN.
