How long does it take to get a CM decently geared?

btw do you have to get geared for pvp?
what do most pvpers use?
and what about pve?

The only part of PvP that needs gear is Rank 1:1 (aka Ladder) which is a competitive gear based PvP but its not too important if your main focus is only PvP. If you do plan on participating in Ladder then it has its own type of PvP gear that gives special bonus to your damage while in Ladder so Devotion or Hunting Rufus equipment will work well for that.

For PvE good gear to start with would be Theano, and then save up for Ice Dragon Unique gears. For accessories you can also use Theano or try to craft Technique accessories which increase the damage if individual skills which is pretty useful. Also dont forget level 93 crests and talismans which contribute a lot to stats as well.

Geared for nesting - maybe a month or less if you are diligent.

Geared for raiding - the f2p way, 1-3 months.

We're an int class that needs lots of int and some help on the crit side so cm's can get very expensive to gear for raiding.

so if i went pvp i wouldnt have to spend anytime getting gear right just crests ?

for pvp since gear is minimally important all you would need is skill crests and technique accs so yes it would be much easier to gear.
