In light of recent events, I think it's important to note the Forum Policy post that Dean created yesterday.
Everyone should read it in its entirety, though I will iterate some of the especially relevant assets.
This is especially important because there is a point that says any discussion of bans is against rules and merits comment deletion.
With regards to everything going on, remember to communicate your messages with both dedication and consideration for the intent of the forums.
A lot of the discourse as of late seemingly merits deletion, and there are many lurkers who are racking up offenses - do your very best to act within the policy to allow your ideas to last and maintain their presence in the community dialogue, and don't mind those whose intention is to disturb it. At times like these, it's important to maintain representation and to stimulate conversation. I believe everyone would like if as much of the community's thoughts could survive as possible.
All discussion of the ban could potentially be wiped according to these policies, if they refer to discussions of game bans rather than forum bans (though I'm not certain discussion of forum bans would have much reason to occur). If you're going to discuss anything, do your best to keep it from triggering this clause:
Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be.
Be respectful and constructive, whether you agree or not - ED says to do so themselves. I'm not certain how exactly discourse will continue about any of this, as any discussion of any bug/ban, for or against, may be subject to deletion or censorship. I'm not even certain if any of the threads made today, again, for or against, will be there tomorrow, though I hope some sentiment will survive and travel somewhere, and I truly hope the conversation will continue. Don't worry about trolls or instigators, as a lot of their words will disappear, according to what the Forum Policy says will take place in response to such activity. Continue being the community that makes the game for so many players, and don't give up.
Best wishes to everyone.
