Space Cubes. People were dishing out 40-50G per cube when a lot of us the price would drop down. Most of my raid teammates listed their space cubes prior to transfer for 45G and instantly sold. I think they individually banked 30k gold doing so. Right now they cost 12-14G per. Soon it will be 5G or less once guilds hit 40 just like in every other server.
Raid sale runs are also a good example when we sell them for 40k initially. The people who were patient for the runs and waited for the drop to 5k saved a ton of gold.
The list could go on and on, but it's basically people overpaying for certain things due to being impatient.
Regarding IDN - You honestly don't even need those items to beat IDN 8 man. The community often believes you need amazing "DPS" to do certain content but that is untrue. If you have the right composition, knowledge of class, and reaction time, those DPS check mechanics shouldn't be a big issue for most of the community. Prepare ahead of time such as dropping relics at center prior to bar mechs and have relic reaction ready and have other players save their strong DPS skills heading into certain mechanics. Don't be fooled by people because the general population is so used to bursting through mechanics, they forgot how to do mechanics. There's no timer in IDN normal, you can take as long as you need granted you have a well coordinated team. Most of the time teams don't have the DPS because their DPS is either dead or afraid to attack.
Anyways, this is out of topic to the economy and I'm going to head to work.
Cheers

Mats/items are usually just a short term fix because demand for such items are not consistent. These said items are usually only funded by a small population of players who are impatient and have a desire to obtain the best items immediately.

Then ED needs to adjust the gold received from clearing content, OR increase the weekly run counts and gold that drops. I'll take DDN x 6 and IDN x 6 with increased drop rates and gold. This will help with the massive gap between vets and lower players and actually encourage those to play more and learn the nests/raids better.
Like you said, the model is based off a healthier economy that hasn't been present for a couple years now. That's either going to change under their leadership or it's not and only time will tell...again.

I'm not going to go into too much detail, but I will say this - Dragon Nest was designed for a healthier economy.
Let's not even discuss about L-Grades because that itself is an issue for the average population, especially when each piece of IDN L is the same cost as a main hand.
Aside from L-Grades, we have guild buffs which consume a lot amount of gold each month or week depending on buff. It doesn't help that leveling up alternative accounts no longer provide keys. This itself is removal of gold injection in our economy.
Guild gem is another example. The high fail rate/break rate is designed for multiple tries. However, it consumes so much gold that most of the population don't dare to even attempt for +10 unlike other servers.
Crafting RDN L weapons cost 430 gold, but IDN L weapons cost 2010 gold to craft.
Everything has continually increased in price. Think about the next L-Grades at 93 Cap which will probably cost even more.
I personally think that a richer economy would encourage more players to play the game. If average players were able to afford L-Grades as well, then there would be more incentive for them to play the game. They won't feel left out or separated from veterans of the game. It will be easier for them to find teams and complete content. I understand many veterans don't like this concept because they don't feel that average players of causal players should have the same gear as themselves. However, they won't because standards will increase with more gold in the economy. +13's or even +14's will be the new standard of gearing for competitive players.
As many people have stated in the past few pages of this thread, you can work as hard as you can but RNG can screw you over. With more gold, this wouldn't be so much of an issue.
Also, for those who are saying it's easy to make gold because you farm on 100-400 alts for apples - not everyone has that sort of time. The average player base either goes to school or work. If you have time to farm all day, then that's great for you. However, I am almost confident that you wouldn't be able to maintain this life style for very long. You will burn yourself out or you will start selling NX and lie to me about you farming on 400 alts.
I think that's all I'm going to say for now. I'm providing a very unbiased view because I don't need the extra gold for L-Grades. However, I do realize that the general population is not happy because they are not always rewarded for their work they put in the game. If you want this game to do well, then think about the general population and not how much gold you can make yourself. That's one of the reasons why Dragon Nest started dying - New/average players can't make gold and only veterans who sold RDN HC/apple farmers could.
+1
I gave up grinding the same dungeon over and over again a long time ago. Those who can do this have my respect. To each his/her own, but where is the fun in that and or farming on several hundred alt? Open beta through now and I still continue to only play this game for nests and raids. Hell, I quit running norm nests because ED removed aura drops from them. WHY!? Why should I even consider running now so I can waste time repairing and getting an obsolete cauda accessory? IDN, TKN, Daid HC, DDN HC, HBF and Starlight, that's all the relevant "end" content that is worth running and yet it doesn't yield shet in terms of gold. Smh.
With that said, whatever I gain from running actual content each week on multiple toons is what I yield and that's it and I have to be fine with that. Work and family come first. I fall into the sub category of sub hardcore competitive player who doesn't run L grades. Although I'm going after IDNL or so I hope too.
Escorted hit the nail on the head too. This has been an issue since we went to limited mats and same armor sets outside of L's at the start of T5. On one hand I'd like to see multiple mats come back so we can all make gold and have a thriving MP, put use to regular dungeons more, but on the other hand it is NICE for the old folks like myself who can't grind for this stuff every week who want to gear and become competitive in a shorter amount of time.
Forget the manufactured gold injection IMHO. How about changing some of the following and I think things would/should improve in the long run:
- Remove the fee per item for general storage
- Remove the cost to swap out gems
- Remove the cost to swap around talis
- Remove cost to adjust plates
- Remove/drastically lower the repair fees for dailies
- Remove fee to trade gold
- Lower cost to list items in MP
- Allow some shop items to be sold in MP
- Put guaranteed shard drops in the chests for HC content only
- Increase the gold that drops from nests/raids
Imagine the gold saved per toon per week if 1/3 of that list was adjusted.
Have a good weekend everyone

I think the problem lies more so in what items drop that we can sell/buy or otherwise help our economy.
