No offense but there should be no self pity. If someone can break your faith in yourself, how much actual faith in yourself did you actually have? To be quite frank with you, this isn't just a DN related thing. This happens in almost everything that has a competitive following (especially in higher levels of what you're doing.) If you're not able to be okay with yourself, or if what people are saying is making you panic/ lose faith in yourself, then you're wasting your time doing whatever what you're doing. And your time should be spent either A) somewhere else w/o a competitive following B) Getting some actual faith.
Shouldn't expect flowers and candy from everyone.
This is so true, like I promise that the mistakes you're making I've made and what I'm trying to do is help you.
Its clear that you've never experienced the things that people have said to others in PvP on DN. Otherwise you would know what I meant when I said "Lose faith in themselves." Its not a simple "You can't play this game right you should uninstall." Its more of "Do everyone a favor and kill yourself already" comments that I'm talking about. Or better yet, its the comments that attack people in world chat based on their sexuality just because they confided into those that they thought they could trust. Maybe they should find something better, but DO NOT say that they don't deserve pity when you know nothing about how they feel.
People don't hold back when they are online; they act under a persona and are much more expressive of their feelings (be it rage, or otherwise) than they would be in real life. The internet tends to hold a lot of negativity, which is unfortunate. When it comes to people knocking on you in PvP; there's nothing you can "do" to stop it. The best option, in my opinion, would be to change the chat to Game rather than public chat and just don't read the chat bubbles that pop-up. Realize it's s just the other person blowing off steam.
Also, regardless of anxiety and other disorders negative talk affects everyone, whether you think it does or not. Your overall mindset is heavily influenced by your environment on a subconscious level. I.E. if you're constantly being hounded with negative things it's bad for your mental state no matter how psychologically strong you feel you are.

As someone who has experienced these things, I know that it's hard to let it roll off your back. I have learned that trust should never be freely given in this game as I've been burned too many times to count. I'm sure we all remember my fan club that consisted of those I will not mention here. At one point I was seriously considering deleting the game. What stopped me from doing that was that I actually did have many friends in the game who became almost like a 'muffin family' and I didn't want to lose that. Some people are built differently to never be bothered with what is said or being farmed or whatever. Others are built to be more sensitive in these areas. It doesn't make us bad players, it just means we need to learn more about this environment and decide whether or not we can overcome the nonsense. I think that good will always outnumber the bad in this game though. Plus I have goals! I need to be on the first page of the boards >.< Even if that means hours of being buried in salt in PVP.

You should learn not to assume, or at least to assume correctly. This isn't my only blue rank character, but I'd love to say I'm very experienced on this community. And Yes I am the one to understand since my nickname was TransformingTranny and I did specifically stand up for the lgbtqia+ community plenty of times on the forums. I still don't feel bad, this is the internet, and an online game forum. You can turn this off and not have to deal with it ever again if you like. You should probably start opening your ears and listening. I say this without any bad intentions but your bias is showing. There's plenty of stuff all people on this game have went through, but you can separate yourself from this community. I don't pity someone self wallowing for no reason. I don't pity people who leave themselves in bad situations. If this isn't the place for you then just leave. It's not mean, I don't see the reason you would still be there, intertwined in this community if it had just bad ramifications.

Wonderful, you don't care. That's perfectly fine. Everyone should aspire to have the same mindset as you and just turn off the game when things get ugly, but they can't. You can be insensitive to how people feel all you want, but don't tell others that they should do the same.

No I showed that to show you the time I put into the game. I honestly don't care to pity what shouldn't be pitied. Everyone should just turn off the game, why not if you have an on button, i doubt you don't have an off one too. They can but they chose not to. Why should anyone pity a person who repeatedly puts themselves in a bad situation, and isn't obviously learning from them?
Okay...so about the TOS. Do we know who the moderators are yet? I hope they actually play the game too as it would be great to get to know new ones. Oohhh...do you think the mods will stay the same? I wonder if they will have more power than the old mods did. Some of the mods were fun though.
