Do you get any benefits by adding a specific amount of friends?

HAHa yeah cleric spec quest apparently used to have to do chaos rift which was pain on a cleric, but I think they changed it long ago and I don't remember how I specced my first guard

And it used to be adding friends had a thing that said friend boost, not related to the mentor system, but maybe I'm just imagining it

the game pretty much lost it's manual during the transitional changes made in 90-93cap. leaving behind content and never really cleaning up the older stuff to clarify what serves what purpose or if a system is completely unused anymore.

i guess the closest thing to confirmation is what is written on the Dimensional fragments from bunnies, but i can't really see anything of the other systems or items in the game stating what they used to be and why they are gone.

kinda like 'dark gateway' portal. i know it was a dungeon of some sort back in the days, but now it's access is cut off from cardrock pass and only accessible from the tabs on Terminus Gateway/lvl80-93 at the bottom.

only realised this bc i was doing guardian job quest and tbh. i couldn't find it for awhile :L. i ended up using the find location via Quest menu, but eh idk...

i believe adding friends gave you an exp boost while leveling but im not sure if it still does

you can get an achievement for filling up your friend list but thats it. the benefits is mostly just knowing if someone is online

Alright then to answer your question; this game is updated once a month, and those updates are poorly done. They replace things but don't update descriptions or completely bug them. Either way, the tooltips are older than half the playerbase, so don't expect them to be accurate.
