I'll probably use the old client if I can get it running from my hard drive again, or download the new one if I can't. I've been running the game off a flash drive for a while now, because of a bizarre issue that honestly doesn't even make any sense. caption

So, basically, I can log in if I run it from a flash drive, but it d/cs instantly if I run it from a hard drive.
It seems this "instant d/c at login screen" issue had been happening to a few people, and no one had found an actual solution for it.

Couldn't use the nexon launcher, since my computer doesn't play nicely with it, so I was launching with DNLauncher. Tried everything I could think of to get it to work, short of completely uninstalling & purging any DN entries from my registry, but it didn't work. So, since I wanted to get my SH to 90 before the timer on her box ran out, I copied the installation to a flash drive, and borrowed a laptop from someone. That worked, so, after a while, I tried running it from the flash drive on my computer, and... it worked, and I could log in.

The weird things are that: 1) the copy on the flash drive was originally a bitwise copy of the one on the hard drive, but it still worked while the HDD one didn't, and 2) I tried copying it from my programs partition to my data partition, and it didn't work, even though they're different logical drives (programs is C:, data is E: ). I also tried disabling Windows' built-in NTFS compression for the folder, and it didn't make a difference.
It doesn't seem to be all that common a problem, and there is a way around it, but still...

Whoa, that is weird. It's the first I've ever heard of it. What made you resort to a flash drive?
