Why is everyone surprised? They have to keep releasing more and more OP costumes and accessories that everyone's gotta have, otherwise where is the profit for them? It sure as hell doesnt come from vip packs and once in a while wtd eggs. Today having > 300k dmg in town is top tier(maybe). Next quarter it will be 400k. And people will keep spending because the more you spend the more you are invested. You want to keep up with the rest of the group you hang out with. Whether it is time or energy or even more importantly, money. Money takes a greater hold on people. A lot of people here who have spent10k$ + can walk away from their spending probably because well they consider the value to have been returned in entertainment.
And since the way to keep a community interested is to have tiers, (same as in society with the friction between classes), they will cater to the largely f2p population with ways to make gold. We are investing with our time and energy. This is simply how the game will survive. They need money to run the game, and they need to keep players interested and coming back, what ever it is that holds them here: friends, OPness, gambling, bragging, slogging, selling...or just having a fun time.

Only their accounts can tell them that ... obviously they wont stick with something that doesn't work well for them. And if the game dies before they realize, so be it. Players are still hoping for a change, and even though so many are heading to the point of no return, they haven't reached it yet. But if things are that bad, the point of no return(I'm talking about that point where you have no attachment to the game anymore) is inevitable for a lot of us.

We were all hoping for a event to get these costume pieces since realistically opening $1000 worth would only be like 4 threads. This is absolutely ridiculous the low chance the special egg and the $400 tier without any other rewards.

Here's my idea of a conversion costume sale: OK so the best part of these costumes (minus the stats) is that they are basically costume mod's that don't force you to stick with a single costume's looks they way hybrid tablets do. So with that in mind why not have the community voice for throwback costumes that are no longer in the vault. Then just have it be like $100 spent per 1 thread.

Funny thing is a lot of you would probably still say $500 for a full costume what a rip..... in that regard I feel for ed's event planners but still this is blatant milking. The other thing I wanted to say is yes there will always be a better costume later however the thing is we knew about police, we knew about racing, and we knew about this months and months and months ago. Do you know what we don't know? the next op cash costume. That to me tell's me this is the last op costume for a long time maybe even a full year. Sure we can speculate about conversion weapons and wing tail decal but even so those wouldn't replace the armor pieces released now.

Honestly I don't understand ED's profit model at all. Why is it that they release a cool new costume feature on such an expensive, exclusive costume set? Why didn't they release rare, epic, and unique options for these new conversion costumes at appropriate spending/purchasing tiers? I think people feel left out or upset because in order to get access to the new conversion feature they have to spend hundreds of dollars.

The reality is Dragon Nest is an expensive game for upper class citizens and those that can't afford to compete should probably quit or play a game that matches their poor yearly income. If players here were actually well educated and got a well paying job they would have no problems purchasing this luxurious costume. Luckily for me I spent 3 years majoring in a field that nets me the big bucks and can afford these conversion costumes without hurting my wallet. Having my own business and lots of cash lets me enjoy the finer things in life like getting lots of stats and gold in Dragon Nest.
