Entrants allowed: Everyone

Requirements for combo: Epic side kick crest, Skill

Difficulty: Easy

Prize for final challenge winner: One costume package from the Dragon Vault OR something worth equal or less value

Time limit: 2 weeks



Welcome to the first Dragon nest Combo Challenge for DN NA. The rules are simple, mimic the combo shown (final product) in the video. Everyone is allowed to enter this first challenge, but this is only the start, there will be 3 more challenges for warrior following this one and to enter each, you will have to of completed the prior challenge within the time period!

I do warn you that this is only the start of the combo challenge and the final challenge will be a complete test of everything done up until then. To enter the challenge, please record yourself replicating the final combo shown in the video to the best of your ability. And do note that there is only going to be one winner by the final challenge, but don't stress about that just yet.

Standards that must be met during the combo:

- The dummy must bounce off the wall 5 Times during infi side kick combo (Can include initiator bounce and bounce into ares combo)

- Must perform 2 Belfry combos in a row

Final Note

I can only do this if it gets enough people entering, people already complain about how we never get any PvP events, well here is one. I'm willing to do this for each class in the game if it gets enough support but that can't happen until this thread gains some traction. So if you like the idea of a combo challenge to either improve or test your skills for a reward, then please share this thread around with any warrior PvPer you know. Thank you.

By the end, it's going to be whoever can complete each challenge presented until the final challenge, if there are still multiple entrants who can complete the final challenge to the standard required then there will be a "bonus" challenge of sort which will require a panel of impartial judges... that will be a challenge in and of itself but.. I'll keep as tight a grip as possible around the final result.

Don't stress! Take use the time limit to it's fullest and watch the video over, I made this first challenge a bit easier and broke it down into parts for people to pick at and learn. And even if you don't win or make it through to the final, keep up with the challenges to test your skills and possibly learn something new!

Personally, you guys can all think what you want about this. It's simply something for PvPers to do.

You can enter it or you can ignore it entirely, but this is one of the only events for PvP we're going to get with ED and it's up to you whether you want to see it happen or not. As i stated, if i can't get enough people interested in this, then i won't be able to do it to completion.

I'd be more than happy to do another DNCL type event, but at the moment it would be almost impossible for me to host and run it by myself. Let alone the fact that i cannot reliably stream from my current setup. So for the time being, this was one of the events that I could do all by my lonesome, without some amazing rig.

Also is there a special name for the combo where you "Wallbounce>Slash>Jump Slash>Sidekick into Wallbounce>Slash> Repeat"

Hmmmm, the person who brought that into mainstream use i believe was Belfry (same with the last kick combo). But at the same time I've only ever heard of it referred to as a "Jump slash combo" or "Belfry Air slash combo".

Interesting. I think the most difficult part of this challenge is memorizing the sequence, as in actual PvP, flexibility is key. Dunno if I'll do it xD

That's an extremely negative point of view. It's honestly a pretty easy combo, the idea of the event is that if you DON'T know how, you learn how. You said it yourself, flexibility is key, and this is a PRACTICE combo, meaning, its something you do in a combo room instead of spamming 50's and 32 skills. Your skills/aim/muscle memory will be refined. And when you apply this practice in-game the effects of it will indirectly promote your play whether or not you actual end up performing it or not, as it is a rather sub optimal thing to do in the short window you get to have a combo

I specifically minimize my use of Roll Attack and I've had WW on softban since 40 cap, though that's changed recently, depending on the class I'm up against.

Edit: Also, I was trying to put more emphasis on the "memorizing the sequence" part. I completely understand the value of skill-less comboing. However, in my case, learning the specific sequence in the video will do less for me than just practicing each of the wall bounce techs on their own. Pardon if my wording was unclear.

I enjoy the idea, glad you're trying to do something positive for the community. Tbh answering negative comments is just gonna bring you down more than its gonna stop them, so i'd just avoid that. I'd try and learn it if I had any warrior skill once so ever, pretty sure I don't even have the side kick plate on any warrior to do it. Anyways goodluck with it and try not to get too discouraged by negative comments. If you ever want some engi combos I can help with that.

I was thinking this challenge could be more like eiyras combo challenge back in 60 or 70 cap where the most original, coolest, or hardest combo would win.This was done across all classes. However, i think this idea is unique and original and i hope that the difficulty of the combos will actually increase.

I would love to see eiyra's idea come back tho. I think freg and kav won that one. it was cool. c:

It's meant to be more assessible to brand new players trying to learn the class, as he slowly ramps up the difficulty. They can try to keep up with the program, or the more advanced players can try to copy the combos later on. If the poster is who i'm pretty sure it is, then i guarantee you that some of those combos will probably not have been performed by most our warriors in NA until he releases the video, and IDEALY, they would be encouraged enough to try as to not be 1-upped =]

And honestly about eiyra's old event, i think the idea was there, but it could have been approached in a different way. Regardless, +1 to eiyra for being eiyra tho
