Is the wish orb rumor true?

I'm just curious, I saw a shout that someone's buying a wish orb for almost 20kg,from what I remember if you sell it to a merchant it just sells for like 20g or something but I heard rumors that says if you have a wish orb in your inventory you will have a higher chance of getting good stuff in nests and stuff. Is that rumor actually true??
