Yes 2 mid hearts. It is another method of rerolling the stat, although you still needs the 50 mid frags.

For rerolling you can just buy the modifier, 50 mid frag and 10k nest point.
People disassemble either to sell it or changing from let's say defence jade to attack jade.
I myself bought some of the 'trash' 200k jade from TH last time when disassembling them can yield either 1 or 2 heart, then the patch rolls in, disassemble everything, sell for profit since mid heart price jumps to 150k at some point and just buy what I need, no need to play with rng since I know my luck is terrible.
