I don't think a Forum Moderation position should be something that's asked for as far as conflict of interest/moral impartiality is concerned. Plus, I would rather not have any Discord issues carrying over to this platform like it did with Nexon's Forums either.

I see so many troll topics already and opening the forums without mods to control the situation is kind of unprofessional. Although to be fair, it is hard to find people to mod on such short notice.
Edit: They also need to make an Official Forum Rules post asap.

I've previously modded on a few forums and I mod a few streams here and there so I think I can be pretty unbiased and do what needs to be done. Professionalism is certainly not what I lack, but bbcoding knowledge is... Hue

I definitely agree with the majority here that this is pre-mature. Whatever steps ED decides to take, I'm hoping this does not boil down to a popularity contest, because I'd be seriously unimpressed with the candidates if Nexon Forums was any indicator.

Minimal moderation is the best to be quite frank. Self imposed moderation and gas lighting is much more effective than having to deal with the favorites game between mods and whoever is giving them the best blowjobs

I am going to have to agree its too early for any community mods to be named. We dont even have an established forums tos for mods to work off of let alone gm's who post in the forums yet.

If we do get mods I just ask that they keep their ingame identity seperate from their forums one. To keep from drama and to give themselves a break. Being mod and people knowing who you are is basically having a job where you cant clock out and just deal with people all day everyday.

This is pretty much exactly what happened. No matter what, every action I took was twisted to become something political by people because reasons.

It's for that reason that I think anyone that makes a comment about wanting the position, even in jest, should be automatically disqualified.

If the people of this new forum show they cannot police themselves, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a FFXIV forum type situation - and that place has a reputation for being an incredibly harsh circlejerk for a reason. (The NA forum mods there are apparently a third party specifically hired to moderate the forums and don't play the game at all, and they don't care who you are and what you've done for the community, they value order above all else - I've watched guide writers and contributors get banned because someone took their criticism as an insult and went mining their post histories for something reportable to get them banned. They don't care how old said posts are either. Any criticism of the game or its developers has a good chance of getting you banned from there too.)

As the subject suggests, we are in dire need of forum moderators. I don't know if Eyedentity is already on the prowl for moderators but lets start by doing this. Who would be willing to dedicate time to being a forum moderator here? I've personally moderated for other games in the past and would be able to do this for about 8 hours a day while I'm at work. I would like others to give their two cents as to how we can prevent this forum from turning into what Nexon's forum was. People who truly care about the quality of this forum should try to do things to improve it. Thanks for your time.

                    Hello there!

I might be new here and all, so may I suggest something and put my opinion on this matter?

I kinda agree with you that we are need of Forum Moderators, however, it is a bit early to make anyone here a Moderator. I think one or two of the Officials should keep an eye on the forums and keep track of post. And if it is time for moderators I think Eyedentity Games should decide who gets Moderator position by making a little forum section where Forumers who are interested in applying for Mod position. For example:

If people are interested in Forum Moderator position:
                    • They need to explain why they want the position.
                    • Give the community (That's us) a 2 detailed paragraph on how will they improve the forum/forum community.
                    • Let the Officials Eyedentity Games make the decisions. (More of a poll)
                    • Eyedentity Games makes the final decision.

When it comes to Moderators we need trust in the matter, if there's no trust between the mods and the community, it will crumble. So just wait a little more time. But I think most of us agree with you. We do need them but let the officials come in first before they decide its really needed.

Forum anarchy ftw? Lol nah we do need them someones got to keep us in line.

Edit: Don't know if they should be from the player base though. That will lead to all sorts of favouritsm.

No, it should not be from the player base. If it was from the player base, it'll regress back into Nexon-like forums without GM intervention or support.

I agree that we need moderators given, well... the PvP section, for one thing. Not pointing fingers, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the trolls moved.
But volunteer forum mods would need to be moderated themselves somehow. Checks and balances and all that.

I was recruited in exactly that way, and look how that turned out. You should probably cut the community part out of the third bullet point.

That said, ugh at the PvP section. The cancer kills me. PvP section was cancerous before, but the place has already regressed into a whole other level of stupid with all the alts making it impossible to tell which idiots are behind it.

When I meant Community, I meant Forum Community, not the in-game community. Sorry for not pointing that out. But if its not what you meant then sorry again, I'll edit my post.
