  • Client Crash or Force Close Issue after Windows 10 Security Update

    Hello everyone:

I am having an issue with the client as of the security update of Windows 10 (Which i was ignoring, until it forced itself to install.)

After the Windows 10 update, my client force closes after a few minutes in the game.

    Event Viewer Error:
    Code:

    Things I have tried:
    • Disable Anti-virus
      • Note that the client is already added in the exemption list.
    • Reinstall the Client
      • Weird thing is that, the reinstalled client is not launching. The Launcher opens, but when you start the game, nothing shows.
    • Run in Compatibility Mode
I will appreciate any help to anyone who encountered this.

Got try this? not by me.

    1. Go to your start an type "Exploit Protection"
    2. Turn off 2 things under the System Protection Settings TAB:

    - Data Execution Prevention(DEP)
    - Validate Exception Chains(SEHOP)

    3. Restart your computer.
    4. Try running Dn again from the "dnlauncher" as "Administrator".

revert back these settings after you run Dragon nest.

last time happened to me few weeks ago because of win10 updates, I just rollbacked update and stopped auto update until now.
not really recommended to do that tho

It's kinda better than having the most updated one with unstable patches

If you have this app (BANDICAM) or similar app like this try to close them before running DN.
I found out that these apps causes DN client to crash.

Do you want to force windows to stop the update? Then delete windows defenders folder. you can still choose another antivirus app but not that one it sends all your data to Microsoft and request for force update.

Is that a pop up error.
Do you usually see it or on DN only?
If ntdll.dll is always your error better clean install your windows but that would take a lot of time to back up your files except you have a separate disk for your OS.

        Things I have done today:
        • Re-installation really did not work.
        • Revert to previous build made things worse.
        • I have Reset my PC, now it is working.
Clearly not my day to play DN the whole day lmao.

I dont know what else i can suggest that might rectify the problem.

I too use windows 10. But i just let it auto update whatever updates it needs, and also am not running DN on any compatibility settings.

So far i have not encountered any problems whatsoever =/

After seeing a lot of cases and looking up stuff online, I'm afraid the best option it's still a rollback I:
Shame that doesn't seem to work for some, this update seems to have broken windows and some software beyond comprehension
