Hello, looking for assistance on class choice.

Hello,
I guess this may be obvious, but I'm new to the game. I started Sunday and have an inquisitor to 93 and engineer to 34. I am still lost when it comes to gear and all, but the game is fun and I'm able to level quickly so that's nice.

As the title says, I'm looking for class suggestions. I found out after 93 that I would have been better rolling saint (not used to dpsing esp in this game) and not sure what to do with the engineer, but I like ducks :P

I'm looking for either a full support besides saint (don't want to level another cleric yet) or a tank. So far I've looked at possibly Taoist or the machina tank, but any advice is appreciated. I'll keep looking through the forums and discord hoping to pick up info.

Just found out that, for now, saint is preferred for support. Kinda sad about that but still not sure about leveling another cleric yet. If there aren't any comparable supports to saint, suggest any fun dps or tank classes for me to check out.

I'm kinda disappointed with the inquisitor because it feels very bursty, but that may just be me not understanding the class

Saint is considered the best support because of their Cure Relic but you could honestly get by as a Physician or Light Bringer as well. So far, only Saint and Physician have their classes awakened but Assassins will get theirs too soon and Light Bringer should be looking good again.

Ah ok, thanks for the info. I may just go ahead and try light bringer. I won't know if I'm doing bad or not anyway since I'm not sure what doing well looks like :P

Just started one myself and found it helpful on how to spec and what and what gems to get and such. They got some skill builds listed as well.

I say you should also try physician. You can be a sub dps and a great support. Physicians offer cures, heals, movement speed buff and 10% dmg buff for the pt. Imo probably the best support out the three healers. They are also more preferred than LBS in raids

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm finishing my engineer to 93 this week so then it will be time to roll a support. I've heard that the level 90 box may allow a class respec, but I don't remember seeing that on the inquisitor. If it does, I will respec to physician and roll a LB or some kind of tank.

Ah, too bad then thanks for the heads up. Made it from 50 to 80 last night after work so I should cap the GM tonight. Not sure if I'll do a tank, LB, or just bite the bullet and level another cleric/tink so soon. I kinda want to break it up with a melee class to round out my experience with the game.

brief distinctions between the tank classes
Guard is probably considered the most pure tank, destroyer is good and can play like a dps, defensio is an action packed evasion tank and leans more towards dps

^ Nice guide, I'll have to comb over it later looks like there is a lot to learn there ( I made a defensio like 2 weeks ago). Shes just in +8 theano/desirous theano so I don't plan on super tanking anytime soon but might be fun to learn how to tank in this game regardless ^.^.

Wow, thanks for that. I'm really starting to like the idea of the destroyer. I leveled a LB... CCed to Abyss Walker shortly after. My GM is starting to get decently geared for just over one week of play, but still trying to get the hang of the game and trying to figure out what I like most.
