  • Nest Category: Proper Explanation of Difficulty of a Nest

    hello, i am mr.shovels

i know this post might be unnecessary because everybody else knows what are nests and they can complete it anyway, but i would like to share my opinions to you all about nests.

As we all know, nests are a stages where we fight sets of boss in order to reach the final boss, which is the main reason the nest exists.

In the Lore or the Story of the Game, each nests has its own background as to where it started, such as the new reboot of Green Dragon Nest, which the green dragon is karahan, an evil doer ingame that cursed karacule with the black curse from ancient dragons (Eg. Sea Dragon, Green Dragon, Desert Dragon, Black Dragon etc.) soon enough, we might be able to see future reboots of all other nests, and the next nest reboot after GDN is Cerberus nest, here's hoping they bring back a good 'ol 4man from the past successfully!

Let's begin with my topic then!

    NEST CATEGORY

I've made up categories that could determine the difficulty of the nest by the mechanics, how they work, the rewards, which is the more valuable and rare the rewards are, the harder it is to conquer, the limit runs, and ofc the type of final boss there is in a nest.

These Categories are just made up of numbers, here's the list and details:
    • Category 1:
      • Regular 4man nests
      • Rewards are meant for Enhancement/Crafting
      • Mechanics are simple:
        • Simple jump mechanics
        • Dodge/avoid
        • Pushing objects
    • Category 2:
      • 4man Nests of a majory nest [8man]
      • Rewards could include crafting materials for gear / includes gear drops (mostly Unique of the same level cap of the nest) could include rare accessories
      • Mechanics requires teamwork , doesn't need much synchronization
        • Tricky Jump Mechanics that requires timing, short gaps after a jump mech (Eg. needs to jump ahead of time)
        • Requires proper teamwork in order to save a party member of fatality (Eg. a party member will die if team did not meet mech's time limit or requirement)
        • Needs to deal extensive damage onto something for a mech to work.
    • Category 3:
      • 8man Major Nests (Mostly Dragon Nests)
      • Rewards are rare and valuable, includes materials for crafting, or purchase of rare accessories, legend gear crafting material, could also include rare drops of accessories
      • Mechanics requires accuracy, teamwork, and team preparation and practice, has a time limit and no resurrection available whatsoever (except if Resurrection Potion can be used)
        • Requires to Memorize a Pattern of a mech in order to avoid fatality of one or more members
        • Accurately Jumping mechs
        • Pushing Objects while extensively dealing damage to something else
        • Proper skill management of some class with summons (Eg. Gear Master, Shooting Star)
        • Proper Summoning of Objects with path block (Eg. Saint's Relics)
Here are the List of Nests in each Category:

    Category 1:
    • Heatwave Volcano Nest [LVL95]
    • Grievous Guardian Nest [LVL95]
    • Cerberus Nest (Soon) [LVL95]
    • Limit Break Nests [LVL95]
    • Professor K Nest Remedial Class [LVL93]
    • Returned Typhoon Kim Nest [LVL93]
    • Counterattacking Manticore Nest [LVL90]
    • Returned Archbishop Nest [LVL90]
    • Daidalos Nest [LVL90]
    • Minotaur Nest [LVL24]
    Category 2:
    • Dark Mist Nest [LVL95]
    • Rune Dragon Nest [4man LVL93]
    • Deep Sea Dragon Nest [LVL93]
    • Granom Nest [LVL93]
    • Ice Dragon Nest [4man LVL90]
    • Hot-sand Desert Dragon Nest [LVL90]
    Category 3:
    • Green Dragon Nest [LVL95]
    • Rune Dragon Nest [LVL93]
    • Ice Dragon Nest [LVL90]
    • Red Dragon Nest [LVL80]
Why Dark Mist Nest and Granom Nest are in Category 2?

The hit the mark on having complicated mechanics that isn't easily understood the first time you experience the nest, the mechanics and the variety of stages on these 2 are somewhat different and unique from other 4man nests, Granom includes a mechanic where when you fight the final boss, a team member or yourself is required to save a spot where a dummy has a written IGN of a party member currently present in the game, if the party member or the player with the IGN failed to protect and successfully do the required mech to avoid fatality, that player will die.
Dark Mist Nest on the other hand only has 1 run limit weekly, Dark Mist Nest also has a really large stage, and complicated mechanics, most mechanics in the game requires players to dodge and push/hit objects while proceeding to the path they are taking.

Why Category 3 has all 8man nests?

Category 3 is the Major Nests in the game that includes Dragons, the name of the game itself proves to its Nests ofc, Dragon's are the most powerful boss in the entire game, and 8man nests requires precision and accurate decision making while in the nest in order to successfully complete the nest without any failures, and failing is not an option especially in hardcore mode, where 1 mistake could ruin the run.

Red Dragon Nest is at Category 3? isn't easy to complete now that we have calypse?

Yes, its easy to complete with the current gear we already got, but to enter the nest without knowledge of the mechanics? you're like a sitting duck there.
mechanics in red dragon nest are one of the most complicated ones in the entire game, including the ice dragon nest, Red Dragon Nest lives up to its named, its also the only nest that has given the merits of having its own "Guild Nest" run, which all party members in a raid party is required to be on the same guild when running this nest.

    Category 1:
Regular nests, can easily be conquered solo by a geared player in a few minutes or so, Rewards are ordinary, gold rewarded also good enough for its difficulty

    Category 2:
Nest with a bit of challenge, a minimum of 8~12 minutes of runtime before the geared player finishes it even with high-end gear + jades + accessories, gold rewarded are hefty , worth it for its difficulty

    Category 3:
Challenging nests, requires accuracy, teamwork, and if by any chance, players use Discord with a mic, with also an interpreter or someone that commands the team, requires a lot of practice to perfect the simulations of a successful run of the nest.
